in 1965, nemo’s bar opened right across the street from tiger stadium, the home of the detroit tigers since 1912, and the detroit lions since 1938. nemo’s picked a prime spot for sports fans and corktown locals searching for a beer, a burger, and a good time. while a lot has changed in the detroit sports landscape, and tiger stadium closed in 1999, nemo’s has adapted. when the red wings and tigers moved downtown, they’ve provided shuttles out to comerica park and joe louis joe arena. with the addition of ford field for the lions and little caesars arena for the wings and the pistons,  they have transportation, beers, and food for every game (not to mention some bigger concerts). as you can imagine, nemo’s gets a lot of visitors.

very dissapointed. if you like paying almost $15 bucks for a tiny burger, cold fries and domestic bottle, this is the place for you oh, and since they also don't take credit cards, don't forget to add a $3 atm fee to the bill as well.

what a ripoff! $18 bucks out of pocket for that? as i left still hungry, i couldn't help but think what that same money would have bought elsewhere.... detroiter bar has a burger special which is much larger fresher and more satisfying for $8 that includes a beer..... or i could've gone to the bucharest grill and gotten 3 awesome shwarmas for $15 ... or gone to sgt pepperonis or supino's and gotten 1 or 2 pizzas for the same money.

never coming back to nemos!!!

great tailgate place. if you are looking for a place to tailgate before the game and want to avoid the crowd at eastern market, check out nemo's. the tailgating area is fenced in, has port-a-potties and a great crowd. if the lot is full, check out the houses behind nemo's. they open their yards up for people to tailgate and will keep an eye on the vehicles during the game. the prices are also much cheaper than parking close to the stadium. with the frequent shuttles to and from the stadiums downtown, you get cheap parking and door to door service.

the bar itself is a great little sports bar. the food is nothing out-of-this-world but it is everything you want in bar food.

first...and last visit. stopped by for carryout. couldn't get anyone to take my order at the bar for several minutes, even though there were 3 people standing behind the bar doing nothing. food was forgettable. complained to the manager via email and explained everything in detail, no response. i'll never go back.

it's interesting how there's some ridiculous comment on any restaurant review site if you say anything negative about nemo's. i highly suspect they're being made by a nemo's employee. for my (above) comment they said it's a bar, so what do i expect? well, i expect (good) service!

it's apparent that nemo's feels justified in any customer service they provide, even if it's bad, or in my case - nonexistant!

a flawed bar failing to sufficiently live up to its heritage. i've been to nemo's twice. the first time i enjoyed the food i ordered (though the menu was very limited) but received bad service. i ordered my food and a beer and the bartender, after serving me, did not inquire about whether i would want anything else, although i remained at the bar eating and nursing my drink for at least thirty minutes.

the second time the issue was not service but cost. nemo's, on game night, charges $5 for a labatt blue in a bottle, which is about 2/3 more than it will cost at most other bars. there is nothing exceptional enough about nemo's to justify these prices: alternative bars such as p.j.'s lager house, hoot's, and casey's are all relatively close by. unless being in corktown is a prerequisite, i would recommend stempien's sidestreet lounge as a unique, reasonably priced, and personable alternative.

i would, however, recommend using nemo's shuttle for games at joe louis arena, as it costs only $2 and leaves relatively frequently. but other needs can be served at other places.

shuttle to the game - perfect ticket. nemo's on michigan is the best way to go to the game. tigers, lions, redwings their shuttle bus rides are only $3.00 per person round trip and that includes free parking in their lot behind the bar. the burgers are big and very affordable. burger and fries $7.00. draft beer is $5. they have very limited seating but mostly it's for the game crowd waiting to get on the bus. all you would expect from an old sports bar. i recommend for a cheap pre or post game meal.

awesome cheeseburgers. i used to live across the street from this place and would walk over and grab burgers for myself and my housemate. they are just awesome burgers, period, and the staff are great people.

expect a wait if a busload of tiger fans has just dropped in!

nemo's old school and great times. so very close to where tiger stadium once was . nemo's is steeped in rich tigers tradition . many fans have met both pre and post game here . they offer great burgers, soups and solid food for the fans . don't expect this to be four star service . the cheeseburger is one of the best in town . they have a good selection of domestic drafts and still offer stroh's . the walls are covered with tiger and redwing photos from years past . they also have parking in a secured lot and will drop you off at the game . once the game is over catch the shuttle back and grab a nightcap .
