the only thing i hate here is they don't have meals that have small serving. their good for 1 meals is really good for two people or 1 with a big tummy.
we only eat here whenever we are really really really hungry so the food are not wasted.

i've been hearing neil's kitchen a lot, with all its hype and positive feedbacks. and now i had the chance to try it or myself. did it live up to the hype?

as for the interior, the place oozes with a cozy and laidback vibe. i just love how the decors all contribute to the overall feel of the place. the ambient light seeping through the curtained window is just amazing.

the service was also commendable. i love how the staff was very accommodating. they also had the initiative to fill our glasses when about to be empty.

we ordered sinigang paella, bagoong paella with kare-kare, grilled chicken and crispy pork dinuguan fondue as our main dish. for starters, we had the beach house nachos grande. the food was topnotch! it was presented differently as compared to the typical restaursants. it was truly innovative.

sinigang paella: a different take on my favorite dish. though i still prefer the usual sinigang with its soupy glory, this version is something worth trying! it tasted the same even without the soup. no regrets in trying this one.

bagoong paella: also one of my favorites. i love its presentation, and the taste of kare-kare is really prominent. the consistency was perfect --- thick and creamy.

dinuguan fondue: it made me in awe! i just love how the dinuguan was separated from the meat. its like dipping the crunchy yet chewy meat in a dinuguan dip. what an experience!

i highly recommend this to people, whether a southerner or otherwise. no wonder why this place is so popular. indeed, imo, they have lived up to the hype!

got the chance to try this restaurant last night. they serve mostly pinoy comfort food with a twist. shall i also say ig-worthy food. price ranges from 200-600 for a meal. seems pricey but the serving size can be shared by 2 persons. food that we've tried (not the specific names): crispy pork dinuguan fondue, binagoongan rice with kare kare, grilled pork belly bbq, alabang fried chicken, paella negra with calamares, suman with mango and puto bumbong. what i liked most among these are the pork bbq, kare kare and puto bumbong. quite disappointed with the dinuguan, the pork is already hard, not crispy and the fondue sauce for me seems bland. not sure if this is true all the time since i also have friends who tried and liked this. their puto bumbong is a winner, although priced at 250 per order, is chewy and all the additions complement the puto bumbong itself. i would come back for this 😊

service is good, which should be the case, since they have 10% service charge. ambiance of the place is also good, not your typical resto.

a good place for family dinners. they offer filipino dishes with a twist.
grilled chicken and crispy pork dinuguan fondue - oh, it's a fondue style dinuguan, you can choose whether you want your meat dipped in the pork blood stew (dinuguan) or not. also, you can choose between rice and puto.mix and match, dip it or not to your own delight!tokwa't baboy - our favorite pork and fried tofu with vinegar and other spices. perfectly how we want it.grilled chicken and crispy dinuguan fondue - the serving was cute and delicious at the same time.

sinigang paella with grilled pork belly - the paella was not that impressive pero pwede na.chicken of the south "alabang fried chicken" with gravy rice - this was a saviour dish for our niece. haha. there was nothing special about this one, too pero pwede na rin.

great food. everything we ordered tasted good, but some items seemed to have msg added despite our server saying there was no msg added. the beer was served very warm.

prompt service and knowledgeable servers, though some better trained than others.

everything was flavorful. the black palabok was very rich, and the calamari garnishment paired well with it. the kaldereta burger was awesome. service was quick and attentive, and the place had a nice mykonos feel to it.

if you're a fan of filipino food but wanted to try something new, then neil's kitchen is best for you. they serve filipino food with a twist. i really love their grilled squid. it's really worth the price. though their food is a bit pricey it can still satisfiy you because they give generous serving. if you're looking for an ig worthy resaturant you'll love it here because they got a nice interior and the cool quotes written in their wall. this restaurant is a must try!

p.s
wasn't able to take a picture of their grilled squid.✌

i'm a regular at neil's. it's pinoy food with a twist -- everything is familiar to filipino palates, but definitely elevated to another level altogether. i can't say enough good things about each dish. my favorites are the boneless chicken inasal w/ hainanese rice, the tokwa't baboy, boneless chicken bbq, the concert king's salmon sinigang, and of course, the famous sinigang paella w/ grilled pork belly. my family and i never eat there without having our fill of our favorite dessert -- fried suman, mangga, & chocnut! yum. after going back for these fave standbys time and time again, i think i'm ready and excited to try the other dishes now.

while the food here always makes me happy, the decor and interiors play a big part in the dining experience. the bookstore is a fun touch. i must also make special mention of the restrooms, which are always pleasantly maintained. that makes a huge difference, too.

bottomline? neil's kitchen is in my top 5 restos!

neil's kitchen is one of the coolest place to eat in the alabang area.

interiors are chic and playful without overdoing it. they even have a top floor space for events and parties.

got to try the.....

tokwa't baboy - great sauce with nice balance of soy sauce and vinegar with hints of onion and sweetness. the tofu was crunchy and pork pieces not too fatty. i highly recommend this dish.

beach house nacho grande - multi-colored nachos with salsa and chili con carne. pretty straight forward and delivers all the flvors that you are looking for.

sinigang paella with grilled pork belly - a must-order dish if you are neil's kitchen. the rice has the right amount of sinigang flavor that goes well with the smokey grilled pork.

chorizo rice with callos - the chorizo rice tends to be too oily. i would rather have plain steamed rice with the callos.

alabang fried chicken with gravy rice - big pieces of chicken that is juicy and crispy but a bit too oily.

grilled bbq squid with kimchi fried rice - a good sized squid that's a bit chewy but nicely partnered with the kimchi rice.

turon de napoleon - a cute twist with crispy wonton wrappers, fried bananas, caramel sauce and whipped cream.

the dishes are playful yet still have that familiar and comforting flavors that you could always go back for.

i love neil's kitchen!! a good friend introduced the restaurant to me and i always come back for more of their delicious food! ❤️

the owners and the staff are very accommodating, the ambiance certainly feels like you're at home. the menu only has a few items (but they added a few dishes lately, if i'm not mistaken) but they have certainly perfected it! they also serve their dishes in generous portions that you can possibly share with a friend if you don't get too greedy because of the deliciousness. haha!

must try's are their bumble bee shrimp and boneless chicken bbq with java rice. 😊

sinigang, kaldereta and sisig are some of my personal favorite when it comes to filipino dishes. who wouldn’t love the sourly broth of sinigang especially when it’s raining or the tomato based stew dish called kaldereta. some people would prefer it in classic way of cooking just like how our grandmother used to cooked it. what if you can have these delicious viands into something new and creative way of preparation? kinda interesting right? neil’s kitchen started as a catering business and eventually out of people’s demand they opened a restaurant which can be found along westgate in alabang. trust me, your trip to south will all worth it once you tried neil’s kitchen dishes.
