native grill & wings

nasty food. the wings are awful!!! they might as well not cook the chicken and just put hot sauce on it! foods raw!! buffalo wings better!!

when we first came up with the idea of writing a wing blog we really didn’t know... about wings. sure, we loved hot wings but we didn’t know what makes a really great wing. it’s like drinking the boxed wine before you develop a taste for the real stuff or drinking coor’s light before you can appreciate quality craft beers. basically, we enjoyed wings but we weren’t the wing snobs that our hot wing journey would eventually create. it is as bad as it sounds.

where the wings are hot and the beer is cold!. a good friend of mine took to me to native new yorker and i so glad that he did! they have a wide offering of food on the menu from pizza, to burgers to wings and they all taste great. the hot wings are good and crispy with a true hot sauce!! i tried the spicy garlic and it lived up to both flavor profiles! i like spicy and at some wing joints the "hot" wings are very hot...but native new yorker brings some strong flavor and heat with their wings. the atmosphere is really nice..not a bad seat in the house, and the tv game is top notch! they have a great selection of draft beer as well. i would reccomend the saratoga chips to start your meal...the chips are crispy and toppings are nice. thanks rich for taking me here...i'll visit for sure next time i'm in phoenix!

great college bar. i love this place because i grew up in tempe with native new yorker. they have a great sports atmosphere, great wings and super cheap drink prices. i was able to put myself through college eating here. its a landmark, that is for sure. get the hot wings with a side of honey hot and he beef on kummelweck. to die for.
