may be good for sushi (i wouldn't know) i have had the chicken teriyaki and the beef short rib there and both were literally inedible. hands down the worst two dishes i've ever eaten in a restaurant. the fact that the short rib was around $30 made it all the more asinine. both were like eating salty rubber. the only reason i went back is because my husband had some sort of coupon and wanted to use it on the sushi. he likes the sushi but do not get anything but that.

i have now been sitting at the sushi bar for 40 minutes. the first 15 without notice of a server. at the 45 minute mark without food, i finally rose and canceled my order in front of the manager and explained i had been waiting for a simple order for 45 minutes. exused myself and went to the ricebox.

non-ethical management and staff team. i took my wife and kids to naan sushi to celebrate my wife's birthday. the food was good and service was satisfactory to us. my bill was over $300 dollars and i used my visa card to pay the bill, but the waiter came to me and said my visa card is not working. i gave him another visa card and he came back and said the card is not working. i gave him my corporate master card then the manager came to me and said the corporate card is not working. i told to the manger my corporate card has sufficient limit and there is no way is not working because i used the card to purchase air fair for business on following monday to chicago. however, i left the restaurant looking for atm to withdraw cash for the dinner bill. i found an atm in near by movie theater and before checked the balance and personal and corporate cards and all three card had sufficient funds to cover the bill. i withdraw the cash and returned to the restaurant and gave the cash to the manager and i told him there is sufficient funds on all three cards and he pulled the trick on me not to use the cards in order he does not pay transaction fee on $300 + bill. i told him he is not ethical and honest person and no longer i will dine at naan anymore. in addition, my wife and kids were upset about the situation and did not believe the restaurant manager and waiter pulled the non sense and non-ethical trick on me on my wife's birthday. when we were at the restaurant the place was almost empty and not many customers were dining there. i recommend customers to boycott going to naan sushi. the management and staff are not honest and ethical.

this was my 3rd time there. went last night for the late night happy hour, 11pm. i live across the street. we walk in, and stand at the counter for 4-5 minutes. nobody acknowledges us. a waiter and waitress were on the patio smoking by the front door, not paying attention to us. we left and went to ra. much better sushi at ra. i called naan as we walk to ra an told them and the girl laughed and said have a good night. i live in the shops, and i will do my best to make sure everyone stays away from this resturaunt. it smells like mildew and has a really awkward layout. it's dark, and feels more like an old italian resturaunt. the smell is awful though. and in my opinion, if you can't even mop correctly, how the heck are you going to prepare my sushi correctly? i'll pass. ra is the place to be. upbeat, clean, great atmosphere and great service! naan, you have failed. and by the way, it's gross for your waitstaff to be smoking out front. they handle our food. plain nasty.

top 10 worst dining experiences. hello concerned fellow diners. i don't usually take the time to post reviews on restaurants unless i've had an outstanding experience, or a terrible one. in this case, it was very much the latter. if you want the cliff notes of the review here you go: 1.) apathetic, neglectful, and unapologetic service from wait-staff & management. 2.) overpriced and mediocre food & drink. 3.) not even a full house, and it took over an hour to receive our entrees.

here's the full review. my wife and i invited our best couple friends to come have sushi with us in plano where we live. they live in uptown dallas and we usually go down there to enjoy the plethora of unique restaurants and cuisine in that area. we decided to take them to naan sushi at shops at legacy.

here's the gist of our experience. we made reservation for 8:00. we were seated on the patio by request at 8:00. at 8:15 i had to stand up to grab the hostess to ask if a waiter would eventually come greet us and take our drink orders. she blankly told me yes, she thought so. no apology. at 8:25 an apathetic waiter who did not introduce himself showed up to take our drink order, and inform us the kitchen was behind, and entrees would take 20-30 minutes. we decided to order quickly. we placed all of our orders for appetizers, drinks, and entrees all at once, and did not see our waiter again for 45 minutes. our water glasses sat empty for nearly the entire meal, which ended up being about 2.5 hours. not because we were having such a great time, but because our food took an hour to come, and we couldn't get the attention of our waiter with a road flare. here's the worst part, after getting up several times to investigate the situation i realized the restaurant was nearly empty. they were not extremely busy, just totally neglectful to their patrons. the waiters were not hustling at all or making any effort whatsoever to compensate for the slow kitchen.

at 2 hours into the "meal" we were so hungry because we had only received 2 entrees between the 4 of us, i had to find our waiter to ask him to bring the bill because although we were still hungry, we were not going to waste any more time here. 15 minutes later our bill came. i stood up to find the manager told him this was easily one of the worst dining experiences i had ever had, and he offered a round of shots, anything we wanted. i would have preferred if he had offered to comp a round of drinks from our bill which was extremely overpriced for the dismal service and mediocre sushi we got, but we asked for a shot of crown royal. at that point we were so pissed we needed it. by the way, it took him 10 minutes to bring the round of shots. we decided to walk across the street to twisted root burger company for a real meal. we will not be returning to naan sushi any time soon.

date visited: 7/3/15

location notes: na'an is located within the shops at legacy in plano, tx. the shops are designed in a quasi downtown square kinda feel but with much better parking. na'an is nestled in one of the little side streets on a corner, making it fairly easy to pick out from all the other shops ans resaurants. overall the location is very pleasant and easy to access.

restaurant atmosphere: na'an, i would say, is decorated in a clean modern chic style with a bar located towards the center, a few televisions, and of course the obligatory greenery pieces here and there. seating includes tables, booths, outdoor, and bar areas with a table booth combo running along one side. overall nice comfortable atmosphere but nothing all that unique.

service: hostess was friendly without being overbearing and easily pointed me to my already seated company who were enjoying an edamame appetizer and some light beer. the waitress almost immediately took my drink order after suggesting a couple beers that would be good with sushi. the waitress was able to give opinions about our sushi choices, which is always nice to know that the staff have actually eaten there. after we ordered the sushi arrived within around 10 minutes if that. overall service was good, no annoyingly overattentive wait staff or staff that ignore you, just the right amount of attention.

food: as i mentioned before we had an edamame appetizer which was fresh, crispy and came in ample quantity. the beer selection was the typical domestics with a japanesw light beer selection as well. sadly i didn't note the other beverage options. sushi, sashimi and nagiri (forgive any spelling errors) were great, many different varieties with good pricing options. it's easy to say anybody could find something they liked and something they probaly never heard of. i had the russian roll (white fish with caviar) and the jalapeño roll (tuna with octopus) both were flavorful and plated well, especially the jalapeño roll. the traditional soy sauce, wasabi and ginger sides were present and all of good quality.

would i go there again: yes
price: $34 (two rolls and a beer)

naan sucks, dont waste ur time, money and sanity. i wish i could give this establishment zero stars. i worked at naan for about 5 months and thank god everyday i'm no longer there. the place has been under new management many times, this is because they obviously cant get it right. dont get me wrong the sushi is good and the smu roll is to die for ( because the sushi chefs are good) but the service the management provide is nothing short of atrocious. naan is owned by a korean family that is very racist to anyone that is not korean. they hired their 23 year old daughter to run the place, and the poor girl has never worked in a restaurant before. they cut corners where ever they can but will continually assure you they pay top dollar for their fish. at naan you have to do everyone's job, including the management. this place will fail, its just a matter of when that happens. the owners who nick pick every employee that is just trying to make a living to pay the bills and once you go to them with concerns they suddenly dont know how to speak a lick of english, funny how that works right? what broke the camels back for me was, being fired literally a week to the day after i had to take of to be with my dying grandad. came back to work , no one said a thing but a new girl was in my place, the owners had me doing my duties and training this girl i didnt know had officially had taken my job yet to be told after doing all my work and training this new girl , they didnt want people like me working for them because i had to call in last week. being that this is a family run business i am even more disgusted. there is a reason that this place is dead during the weekdays and they only reason people come during the weekends is they just dont know any better. ive seen a hundred different scenarios where the management, not the server rung up a pricey bill that the customers did not order for the management to come back around either ordering them to pay it or bartering on how much of the food they did not order will they pay for. i mean seriously this is such a unprofessional place.
**the bad ratings on here are all correct !!** if you had a good experience let me assure you, if you make naan a place of preference for sushi or dining, you will be upset with yourself for wasting so much money there in the end!! not some but all of our return customers after a few times eating at naan were genuinely displeased with either the food, how they were treated by staff or management or the overall experience as a whole**beware! and remember if you do have a bad experience, it is the management, no doubt about it!!

i will never go to naan again. in my history or dining, i have never walked into a restaurant with such poor management. an altercation with the gm, and being accused as a patron of not being able to be served.. while the person next to me passes out on the bar? less than classy establishment.. and if patron money isn't wanted- you take it else where and spread the negative perception.

this place sucks! i know that's very harsh language but it truly does. the service is awful, the food is very mediocre, and the cost is through the roof. it's interesting to see up and down the street all of the businesses are packed and there's barely anybody here. i guess everybody agrees.

just like everybody said: its the worst place for sushi. the sushi is overprice really for the quality of what offering. we order premium roll and they dont even serve it with real crab, even they said they do. the sashimi has poor quality and not even at right temperature.

the service is terrible, and the owner brought back out the menu and told us we can order items on sale ??? did he miss the point that we like the food with good quality, not sale items ?
this place used to be much better than this.

the worst restaurant in every way. one star is too much. the only consistent thing about naan is terrible service every time. the owner does not speak a word of english so good luck complaining. the food is way overpriced for the quality. all three times i have been to this restaurant (not by choice) ended up being a terrible experience. there are far better sushi restaurants in the area to even spend a penny at this place, never again.

this place is awful. the food is okay at best and the service unbelievably horrible. you can find better sushi at kroger or tom thumb. you will likely get your drinks filled once. if you need a refill you need to find a water pitcher on your own or go to the bar. our waiter stacked dirty plates on the table versus clearing. items ordered were not delivered. unquestionably one of the worst dining experiences i've encountered in years. avoid this place very bad!!!
