museum tavern

made a reservation for 2 and was seated quickly upon arrival. waited 20 minutes while two couples who came after us were served before us - did not even get water or our drink orders taken but the two after us did. waited five more minutes for no service and upon leaving the guy who seated us said thank you for coming? yes, thanks for wasting my time. clearly i wanted to eat there if i went out of my way to make a reservation. incompetent.

i went here saturday and ordered from the summerlicious menu, it was really good, i had the fried chicken which was to die for. they give you a large portion and the sauce was next level. we kept it to dip our fries in for the main course. i had the ribs, whicvh were fall off the bone tender, with just one bite. my bf got the ahi tuna burger which was delicious as well, i prefered my ribs though. for dessert we got the brownie with ice cream. the bronwnie was hard and therefore hard to eat but still delicious. the main courses were $25 on their own and we paid $25 for summerlicious menu, i thought it was well worth it. after the fried chicken appetizer al lwe wanted was a whole bucket of it to nom down on.

although the food wasn’t memorable, the drinks looked interesting and i may come back to try them if i were in the area.

museum tavern is located right across from the rom, occupying the space that, if i’m not mistaken, was the residence of a mcdonald’s a few years back. museum tavern is a pub but serves food and drink items at a higher price point that most pubs.

...this sloppy joe sandwich was indeed very lamby! it’s basically a tomato pasta sauce with minced lamb...

service is good but the food was lacking. service is good but the food leaves more to be desired given the price point. the fish and chips was cooked from freezer burnt fish from a box and was evident from its mushy texture and lack of flavor. at first it had a texture similar to mashed potatoes. the fried chicken burger was also similar to what could have been made from a presidents choice box in the frozen foods section place in a bun.

creative menu. museum tavern is carrying on their heritage of bistro 990 with a very creative menu and caring staff. had the lobster roll special (chuck full of lobster) and spicy pei mussels.. top notch!

a few months ago i read about the launch of museum tavern, located just west of avenue road on bloor street. people have been raving about this new addition to the “museum hood.” my new favourite “bite by the rom,” features a cutesy french bistro interior, creative cocktail list and kitchen offering a wide spectrum of snackabilities. i marched into museum tavern at 5pm and spent the next hour feasting on dinner with president of point load pictures pete kettlewell. last week i was thrilled to finally  announce i signed my first tv development c

lovely service, nice decor, plenty of delicious food, delightfully presented. but so loud! so loud! even though it was a thursday night, and more than half empty. super noisy. the mussels were good; spicy, mildly curried, creamy sauce. go.

horrible service in a very disorganized space. our server jonathan was rude, arrogant and felt it was appropriate to make snide comments at our guests. first we had a table for 4 and more guests arrived. our additional guests waited at the bar for a larger table to open. the bartender told them the table was ready and took their drinks from them to bring them to our table.when they arrived at the table he yelled across the restaurant to wait until they bussed the table- as if we did not know how to behave.there was no communication between their staff and our guests were embarrassed as a result. from that moment jonathan was extremely rude and expressed his annoyance when our guest informed the server of his peanut allergy replying "it's steak frites you'll be fine". he also attacked our guest when she did not finish her bloody mary that she found too spicy saying "you asked for it spicy" in a very rude tone. considering he charged her for the drink and she did not ask for it to be removed from the bill i'm not sure why that comment was necessary. when we complained to the manager on duty he let us know the server was new but was recommended as "the best server in toronto". this treatment was deplorable and considering our party was charged an auto-gratuity i feel he took advantage of the situation. for a pub atmosphere the arrogance of our server was unacceptable and we will never be returning.

pricey but pretty. had some cocktails with a friend after work a few weeks ago. this place had a lively atmosphere and the decor is beautiful. my friend and i got cocktalis, which were an expensive $13 a piece but we could tell the ingredients were high quality. very nice service - i appreciated the frequent water refills!

overpriced

comfort food dialed up to eleven. had dinner on a saturday evening and was very impressed. familiar menu items, but each with a special flair to make them unique - and really yummy. cool looking decor that you can relax in. fun, friendly service - will absolutely be back..

great addition to the neighbourhood. if you're looking for a cheap place to grab some grub, this isn't your restaurant. however, the food is top notch, and beer is fresh. their take on a sub, called a torpedo, is a slimmer sandwich with fresh bread and good ingredients. duck buns are served on fresh chinese buns with just the right amount of hoisin and sriracha sauce. key lime pie isn't a pie, but all the elements loosly packed into a ramekin. misleading, but tasty.

great service - friendly, gracious, and knowledgeable.
