fresh and tasty!. i have been going to mrs luu's since they opened and i am always greeted with a smile and even addressed by my first name. i love this so much! but i don't go there just for the great service. i eat here because i love banh mi ! everything about the bahn mi is spot on for me. the cucumber and coriander is so fresh and the baguettes are so crunchy on the outside and so soft on the inside! the first time i had one of these french / vietnamese delights at mrs luu's i was immediately transported back to my travels in vietnam.

i never write reviews on urban spoon but once i saw a bad review on here while i was searching for mrs luu's phone number i felt compelled to express how ecstatic i am to have such a great vietnamese canteen so close to my house.

i have recommended mrs luu's to countless amounts of friends and colleagues and i will continue to do so!

banh mi!

my husband and i ordered a banh mi each - one pork chop and one 3 little piggies (with porchetta, vietnamese ham and bbq pork). our favourite was the 3 little piggies but both were delicious with a beautiful crunchy baguette, tasty mayonnaise, generous serving of protein, salad, and hot chilli (optional). the banh mi are fresh, full of flavour and at $8.50 very good value for money.

came here on multiple occasions, mrs luu’s is located near milton train station and has a very casual store vibe, perfect for a quick lunch throughout weekdays.

ordered the crispy chicken skin banh mi, which tasted alright. the crunchiness was on point, but tasted rather dry. also had the pork banh mi which had a great amount of vegetable fillings, and the combination rice noodle salad; i was pleasantly surprised by the savoury meatball in the salad.

will come back here if i ever need a quick meal when i’m in the area.

perfect place for a quick, yummy lunch. we ate there but it seemed to be a popular takeaway spot.
the rice vermicelli salad was really good, the tofu was a little bit dry but overall still good.
boyf had a ban mi with beef and some veggie spring rolls which he really enjoyed.

i was in the area and i had never tried mrs. luu's before, so i took the opportunity to give them a go. i ordered the three little piggies banh mi ($8.50) and vietnamese ice coffee ($4).

the banh mi was nice and fresh and flavours balanced well. however, i have trouble not comparing every banh mi to my favourite banh mi joint- minh tan bakery. i can not get over their vietnamese butter.

now back to mrs luu's, the vietnamese ice coffee was very good-nice and strong. the service from the gentleman at the counter was excellent. he was friendly, fast and welcoming.

i would recommend mrs luu's if you are in the area and looking for a vietnamese fix.

today i was feeling hungry but didn't want anything too heavy so what could be better than a fresh and healthy vietnamese food?

today we ordered the tofu and mushroom rice paper rolls, the tofu bahn mi and the spring roll noodle bowl.

the tofu rice paper rolls were a nice entree, the vegetables were crunchy and fresh with a good amount of tofu and noodles inside. the side sauce that was served together was a nice addition that brought to the rice paper a rich flavour. i would rate it a 4.5 out of 5.

the bahn mi again everything inside tasted fresh, the bread was crunchy outside and soft inside with a decent amount of tofu and an elegant lemongrass flavour was present. this is the second time my partner has it which means she really enjoyed it. i would rate it also a 4.5 out of 5.

the vegetarian spring roll noodle bowl comes on a huge serve, i was quite hungry but still only managed to eat about half of it. the dressing served together has a perfect balance between sweet, salt and sour. it was indeed what i wanted for lunch on a hot day. i would also rate it a 4.5 out of 5.

overall mrs. luu's has been around for a long time and there is an excellent reason for it, cheap prices, tasty food and friendly staff!

ordered the beef banh mi here. it was a pretty decent banh mi, with crusty bread, an adequate amount of sauce and a good amount of meat and pickled veg. however, it is a little on the pricier side. that being said, i wouldn't mind coming back again for a meal.

i had the pork meatball in the rice noodle salad. the pork was amazing and the noodle salad was phenomenal. and the peanuts were amazing. easily a full and delicious meal!. this came as the biggest shock to me. this all came to an amazing $12. unfortunately, i needed to get back to work and we didn’t get the chance to eat in. however, the place was cozy and i found their popularity made the best option to takeaway.

had the nice bahn mi from pineland bakery that recalled my memory of the signage of mrs luu at railway terrace of milton. went there one early morning and i had the parking spot just at the shop front as the advantage of early bird again. as the first customer of the day, i was greeted warmly by the staff, my gaze was immediately caught by those trays of baguettes for bahn mi. i was surprised to see the option of pork chop as ingredient (first time to see that option) so ordered one of those. in addition, i also ordered the vietnamese iced coffee to go with the bahn mi. when the staff brought the orders, i then understand why this business is so successful as totally branching out with four outlets. they really carry forward the essence of vietnamese street food. the coffee was just the same as the one that i had at hcmc and the pork chop inside the baguette was yummmmmm! recommend other foodies give it a go if you are vietnamese food fans, particularly, joe k. lol.

decent quality food for the most part, but the bread rolls (banh mi) are waay over priced at $8.50 for what you get. keep in mind that this is meant to be "canteen" style food, implying canteen prices. vietnamese bread rolls are supposed to be a cheap and cheerful takeaway. $8.50 price tag borders on a proper takeaway lunch meal otherwise it better be a friggen amazing "banh mi"...........except it's not. either decrease the price or increase the quality (ie. no scimping on quality fillings). in regards to margins, they must be making a killing on their banh mi as it looks like it costs next to nothing to make. .
the combination rice noodle salad for $13 was very good and had a great assortment of delicious meats. perhaps additional asian herbs (basil, vietnamese mint, more coriander) would upgrade it from very good to outstanding.
this is in milton, and therefore caters to mostly middle-class caucasian inner city professionals on their lunch break(being factual, not racial). mrs. luu has got the right formula with this forgiving, less picky customer with no similar style of takeaway shops in the area. however, there is still room for improvement.
my recommendations: skip the bread rolls and go straight to the proper meals, you get a lot more food for your money.

staff are always so friendly, food is fresh and fast (even with the introduction of ubereats orders) and i've never found a fault in coming here once weekly (alright.. sometimes twice weekly...) for three years now.
the vietnamese bahn mi roll is my favourite bread i've ever tried. i'm now craving one. luckily, their a two minute walk from my office!!

i like mrs.luu's. apart from the fact that it's located just a stone throw from work, their food is great. we went there at least 6 times in two weeks for a freshly prepared healthy vietnamese meal. as i'm typing this, i cannot stop thinking about their omelette mint and chilli rice paper rolls. it's $6.50 for 2 rolls, not cheap by all means. i love this particular one due to the fact that they use and carefully place a dark green leaf of vietnamese mint on the visible side of the roll with sunny yellow background of omelette. it looks beautiful and tastes delicious (and it's vegetarian). probably not for everyone however. my first experience with viet mint, it was like having soap in my mouth. but it grew on me since.

they are always packed around lunch time. if you're in a hurry, make sure to get in early. the place is super popular amongst office workers and uber eaters. i can understand that since vietnamese food makes such a great takeaway choice. vegetarian spring rolls are scrumptious. as for 'bun' or vermicelli salad, i like sugar cane prawn here. i think i will need to visit mrs.luu's again today after this review. bring on lunchtime!
