decent quality food for the most part, but the bread rolls (banh mi) are waay over priced at $8.50 for what you get. keep in mind that this is meant to be "canteen" style food, implying canteen prices. vietnamese bread rolls are supposed to be a cheap and cheerful takeaway. $8.50 price tag borders on a proper takeaway lunch meal otherwise it better be a friggen amazing "banh mi"...........except it's not. either decrease the price or increase the quality (ie. no scimping on quality fillings). in regards to margins, they must be making a killing on their banh mi as it looks like it costs next to nothing to make. .
the combination rice noodle salad for $13 was very good and had a great assortment of delicious meats. perhaps additional asian herbs (basil, vietnamese mint, more coriander) would upgrade it from very good to outstanding.
this is in milton, and therefore caters to mostly middle-class caucasian inner city professionals on their lunch break(being factual, not racial). mrs. luu has got the right formula with this forgiving, less picky customer with no similar style of takeaway shops in the area. however, there is still room for improvement.
my recommendations: skip the bread rolls and go straight to the proper meals, you get a lot more food for your money.
