"le french quarter" ~ now "morello" = great!. while staying in hull, we were trying to find a place to dine for the evening and came across -le "french quarter"-, which is now known as "morello". we were informed the management had not changed, merely that they wanted a name more appropriate to the italian cuisine they served there.
we were not disappointed! our server, martin, was friendly, charming, and understanding when one of my crutches decided to tumble his way (opps...), and everything he recommended on the menu was superb!
portions were beyond expectations, and we left feeling guilty that we couldn't finish everything. for their happy hour (starting at 4pm on their site), from monday-friday you can get 5-7 whalesbone oysters and giant shrimps for $1/each, as well as their current specials: monday is angus pride flank steak & fries for $15, tuesday is linguini bolognese with meat balls for $15, and our favourite being the wednesday special of all you can eat mussels & fries for $15.
their drink concoctions were delicious, and we departed knowing that our usual gathering of friends on wednesdays was now in jeopardy due to this gem of a find in hull/gatineau!

order consisted of:
- semi-dry gin martini with a twist
- strawberry daiquiri (with bailey's)
- mussels
- fettuccine neptune
- ahi tuna
- crème brûlée
we would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone! thumbs up all around!
