we fell in love . . .. don't let the place fool you. yes, the restaurant is small and not so fashionably decorated, but for all it lacks in appearance it more than makes up for it in wonderful food and service! we stumbled upon this restaurant after dropping off our family at sfo airport. it was the usual cool bay area weather and we wanted something nice and warm. i searched on urbanspoon and found this restaurant. i put the address on my iphone and off we went looking for it. of course my iphone was a little off on the location of the restaurant and we almost gave up on it. once we found the restaurant we looked at it and thought "this place doesn't look that great." we then looked at the vietnamese restaurant next door with its nice decor and how the tables were all full. we were in search of good food, but mom's tofu house didn't look like it would please my palette.
we are so happy we gave it a try! honestly, my wife and i were so surprised by the service and food we knew we had to come back here. we live in elk grove and a week later, just for kicks, drove back out there just for dinner.
sacramento has good korean food, but nothing tops this! if you are travelling to san francisco and are looking for good korean food, it's well worth the small extra drive to mom's tofu house. don't even bother with korea town, they have nothing on this!
