most of us must have heard this sobriquet of this city but what catches the attention more is the mouth watering, famous cuisine called the awadhi cuisine.

being the native cuisine of this city it mainly consists of non vegetarian dishes. one of the major dishes under this cuisine is kebabs alongside scrumptious biryani.

yesterday was the first time we went for a full fledged awadhi food festival (and trust us it was on our list for the longest time; finally checked it off✔️😅) at one of the best hotels in agra which is courtyard by marriott
.
there were zillion number of dishes, both vegetarian and non vegetarian beautifully placed in different stations (can't discuss about all the dishes here; but it was okish). some of the best and our personal favourite being chaat corner, salad & fruit station, pastry corner and dessert parlour!

now getting back to the ambiance; it was lit🔥
with such western feels to the place you get some ear pleasing traditional music to enjoy while having your food. they have also arranged for a traditional rajasthani puppet show! say whaattt!!😲

we would also like to mention about their hospitality which was next level. from the hotel management to the chef's, all were present there and helping us in every possible manner. the chef was explaining us about all the dishes and there significance while the management was kind enough to cater to our needs!👍

lastly as an act of sweet gesture they gave us a chocolate box to relish!😋

courtyard by marriott is back with another food festival and this time it focuses on the vegetarian food. so a win situation for all my vegan friends. the vegetarian food festival is on from the 22nd of august till the 1st of september.
the festival highlights the vast collection of vegetarian dishes. from starters to fresh salads to the delicious main course and finally to the amazing desserts. we just wanted them all. whether it was the mouthwatering chaat stalls having spicy and tasty snacks like gol gappe, dhai bhalle, papdi chaat, bhelpuri and so much more. we just couldn’t stop binging on them. but okay we went on to the next stall which attracted the health lovers with their unique salads like the som tam salad, pickle vegetable salad, lemon tossed salad etc. aren’t the names so cool?

the management team at marriott is one group that we have consistently witnessed taking fantastic measures in order to curate a food festival.

@agrafoodsters & @courtyardbymarriottagra along with @the.september.girl go a long way and it has been a fruitful relationship to say the least😍

close to 15 members from our fantastic team food experience writers visited them recently for the jashn-e-awadh festival and they frankly were able to create a fantastic atmosphere both in terms of culinary delights & ambience to replicate the city of nawaabs.

you just can’t afford to miss the kebabs, biryanis and the various indian desserts that are up for grabs during the festival. starters, chaat items and desserts were definitely the highlights and mains were pretty decent too !

kudos to chef quereshi and his team for churning out some fantastic delicacies for this festival and we were pretty happy with what we witnessed ❤️

this is a limited time festival and is on till 25th of may so make the most of it with the food of the nawaabs 😍 all this is available at 1399++ and the price is definitely worth for the quality that is available🔥

what could have been better then this royal culinary experience after a break for 02 months from tastings.

specialty chef asif quershi  from quereshi gharana of lucknow, chef asif is considered as expert in making authentic traditional delicacies like curries, kebebs and biryanis.

i got an opportunity with my team @taj_gourmets to attend the opening of "daawat-e-awadh", a culinary festival celebrating the lucknowi delights of the awadhi cuisine at momo cafe.
the spread at beautiful #momocafe at #courtyardagra consisted of elaborate dishes cooked in awadhi dum style such as kebabs, kormas, biryanis, kaliyas, nahari-kulchas, kaleji masala, warqi parathas and the famous chaat along with a variety of salads, sweets and desserts. i had an experience of once in a lifetime where i not only enjoyed the delicious food but also came across some amazing facts about the awadhi cuisine from the head chef asif qureshi who hails from the qureshi gharana of lucknow.😯such as "the richness of awadhi cuisine lies not only in the variety of dishes but also in the ingredients used like mutton, paneer, and around 160-180 spices including rich spices as cardamom and saffron"

the royal and exuberant ambience of #momocafe complimented the aromas of awadh and the live sufi music in the background made me feel like i'm sitting in the dining hall of a nawabi palace in lucknow☺☺
being a vegetarian i was bit taken aback at first but there were ample amount of mouth watering vegetarian options which got me drooling!!😋 thanks to the staff & management of momo cafe @courtyardbymarriottagra
