this is the second time i've payed a visit to this branch and for the second time i was put off from the get go by the sticky residue on the wooden tables and the slightly lacking range of the menu. i also found that there seems to be a bit of confusion among the waitrons on where food is meant to be going (my chicken came to me in the form of calamari and chicken livers...).
this being said the food was fairly good; the moz-barbeque peri peri grilled chicken had quite good flavour, spicy without being overpowering and had a slight sweetness. however this wasn't really enough to compensate for everything else

great service, even though there was a 40 person function at the restaurant we still got lots of individual attention. food was amazing, the chicken livers were great they were perfectly cooked and almost creamy with famous peri-peri sauce topping it off. the chicken rissoles were amazingly tasty. and the fried squid heads were were the perfect crunchy bite.mains were quarter chickens and i must say they were cooked perfectly and drenched in the spicy peri-peri sauce.

the location is surreal, you walk off a busy florida road through a darkish passage way that opens up in to a great space for this type of restaurant. the vibe is great and young and old feel comfortable.

i would highly recommend it as an alternative to the normal nando's take away. the only bit difficult to stomach was the price for the prawns, i understand it's an expensive product and i'm sure they would be delicious, but still a bit steep in my eyes.

do yourself a favor and experience this hidden gem on florida road.

besides the service, which could stand to be a bit faster (i.e. - the group of 6 i came with waited roughly an hour for our food), everything was delicious! from the spinach and feta rissoles (to die for!)and calamari tentacles (deep fried, and perfectly seasoned), to the famous peri peri chicken and chips, i was impressed. if i'm ever in durban again, i will definitely be back.

great afternoon at mozambik, from starters to mains and deserts! the service was excellent! our waiter derek really took care of us for the few hours that we spent there! the vibe is great, looks as if people come there knowing that the food was great! all of the food that was prepared really well, lacked nothing. everything was seasoned perfectly, will definitely be back here the next time i visit durban!

excellent service & the best peri peri chicken i've had many years. a nice midweek vibe and we all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. highly recommended!!

food hit all the spots! food was devine - steak roll, prawn rissoles, peri-peri chicken, calamari and chilled beer were all good! definitely worth a visit!
