mizu japanese steakhouse

my son and i ate there. food was good, ginger sauce was outstanding (best i've had), shrimp sauce was not good (worst i've had). chef was great, really liked him, but the server was terrible. never bright my son's sushi, forgot at least one of the group at our table, and explained it all by saying things were "very hectic" even though the place was very slow - it was a monday night. she added an automatic gratuity to our bill even though there was just the two of us and the menu noted it would be added for parties of 6 or more. the frosting on the cake was it took forever for her to run our credit card. i love japanese steakhouses but this is one i will not revisit.

wellll... first off, the food was good (we had both sushi and hibachi) but the service from the host staff and waitress was bad to so-so. (the hibachi chef was great). we sat in the hibachi area so we could see our vehicle with luggage after just clearing a return trip from florida, and the first host staff person said it was ok. but then another host person came over and made a big deal about it, after we had already ordered drinks and appetizers. it all worked out eventually but our food was extremely slow and they never came back after taking our order - you could tell we peed in their cheerios. also, there were at least 10 hibachi tables and only two were in use and half full at that - we couldn't believe what a big deal they were making. so the food is good but don't sit in the wrong area!

i ordered the filet mignon and grilled shrimp with a side of yakisoba noodles and it was all gross. first they came out with miso

gave it a second try since it's right across from my hotel. sushi is good but the service really does suck.

who would thought dining with 3 would get 18% charge? food great service sucks. i still go here just gotta watch out for lil things

food is good but customer service really bad! waitress can't speak fluently english. her accent so bad! put wrong order and charged us $380 instead of $150. sucks!!!!!

worst teppanyaki lunch ever! i used to eat here often when i lived nearby, so while visiting i thought i'd stop in for lunch----mistake. sadly the quality here has gone totally downhill. what should have been hot, fresh and tasty was greasy, sloppy and burnt-tasting. um, yuck. my plate of food looked more like a pile of greasy hashbrowns cooking on a dive grill than the fresh veggies, shrimp and scallops i ordered. i used to like this place, but this lunch was truly horrible! perhaps i just lucked out with the bad chef, but in any case i won't be returning next time i pass through. such a shame when a formerly good restaurant goes to the dark side....

great food, horrible service. the title pretty much sums it up. the service is horrible, the staff is rude, the "show" is a joke. but the food is delicious and wonderful. it's also a little bit on the pricey side, but it's not outlandish considering what you're paying for.

unexpected. i didn't expect much from this place, given its location and a name that sounds like a chain outlet. i'm also not a big fan of benihana style performances. but we sat a the sushi bar and got completely acceptable sushi and udon.
