miyake is amazing! the lobster roll they have is ridiculous, it's so good. anything with truffle oil is to die for.

my favorite place for sushi. love the new restaurant in the portland harbor hotel block. best sushi i have ever eaten. the lobster roll and hamachi are the most fabulous items on the menu. now you can order booze too. love, love, love it here

...a great opportunity to sample miyake's cuisine without investing too much money. each lunch begins with mushroom miso soup and a mixed green salad

i felt like we were transported back to japan. absolutely loved everything we tried, but highlights for me were the marinated salmon and braised pork belly. both were meltingly tender with the perfect balance of flavors.

miyake- worst service. after reading several reviews, we decided to go to miyake for lunch. after looking at the menu, we had a few questions. a waitress named kristin came over to our table to take our order. her attitude towards our questions was appalling. she rolled her eyes, made sarcastic comments and had a general pathetic attitude. i was more than a little shocked but still ordered our food. however after she left, after discussing kristin's attitude towards us, we canceled our order and left the restaurant.

i have lived in nyc for the past 12 years and have never come across such attitude. we complained to the manager. i just hope that the owner is aware of how his customers were treated. even one time is too many!

its a shame that a restaurant that serves "masterful food" has a horrible waitress. nothing is worth being treated with such disrespect. i hope the owner is reading this review.

before they moved to their very nice new location they were the best sushi in new england. now they think they are too good for their old customers that helped them get there. last time i was there it was one hundred and seventy five dollars and the two of us were still hungry after. no standard rolls left on the menu and somewhat snoutty staff. money will be better spent elsewhere. sometime things change and it is not for the better.

lobster roll... this special little treat crawled into my mouth like a small delicate lobster, carrying with it a myriad of flavor on it's strong tightly rolled back... the waitress however could have taken a tip from the chef on how to reach perfection...

we really love his tasting menu, but its more of a japanese restaurant than a sushi restaurant. i had foie gras with red beets tonight. not what you'd expect, but was really well prepared.

happened to drop in here on a whim, would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys a well made sushi roll of the highest quality...the price e is more than worth the experience that the chefs bring to the meal

our final dish was a plate of sashimi. again, the knife work was impeccable and the fish was incredibly fresh. the colors of the toro and salmon really popped out on the slate grey plate.
