midway cafe and coffee bar

stopped completely spontaneously while driving by. got the best surprise in the process. very friendly, helpful, smiling service. food was very good, coffee about the best i've ever tasted. will definitely stop here again if i'm even remotely close! the only downside is that the place is small (quaint?) which limits the pace of accommodating guests.

delicious food. good coffee. the staff was friendly and seemed happy. the cafe was brightly colored and a cheery, beachy breakfast/lunch spot.

bright decor. service was quick. staff was friendly and the food was very good. blt had some of the best bacon i've had in the keys. pita chips were tasty. only down side is the price. rather expensive for the amount of food.

creative, original and delicious menu options. there was a variety of food options to choose from. clean restaurant and good service. not spacious, but that seems to be the culture in the keys

omg, why did we stop?. rude unprofessional staff. party of 4, ages 3 to 53. not one of us ate more than two bites before our meals were deposited in the trash. food was stale, not to mention inedible. future customers would receive more enjoyment throwing their cash in the trash than dealing with the disappointment in service and food quality.

very sweet staff and wonderful coffee drinks and as i sit here eating a cappuccino choc chip muffin....heaven! croissants are awesome as well.

yummy food. the best hummus i have ever eaten, hands-down. not much atmosphere as you're in a small building right next to the road, but the food more than makes up for that. coffee is roasted onsite and the baked goods are fresh as well.

this place is great! i am local and i eat here all the time. the coffee is excellent, the baked goods taste homemade and they will make you anything they have the ingredients to make. they are super friendly and so sweet to my kids when we walk there. i highly recommend!

dark and delicious. midway is so named because it resides half-way between miami and key west. but the coffee is all-the-way great. wednesdays they are closed for roasting, but the rest of the week they are busy serving up some great coffee and tasty baked goods.
the coffee is dark and brewed to perfection. the espresso is rich and velvety. their croissants are flaky and come in a variety of filling options including chocolate, feta and spinach, and ham and cheese. other morning bakery fare is also offered including quiche, muffins, and coffee cake.
midway also swings in the diner direction by offering an expansive lunch menu. this is where my one criticism lies: reduce the menu size. as witnessed time and again, when a place offers 100 menu options they make a lot of food, and no one thing can stand alone and shine through.
midway has a great thing going and if you're ever passing through, it is a must stop! beat that florida heat and get a fresh iced coffee on your commute.

i gave it a year. today the english muffin was very stale as was the banana nut muffin. why do i even bother?

30$ for a breakfast sandwich, two pastries and cup of coffee. take out order wrong last two times. i love it.

doesn't look like much from the outside but inside is clean & bright. coffee was good and the breakfast burrito was delicious. will stop in again the next time we drive to key west.

stopped here on our way home from the keys after reading the good reviews. so glad we did! the food was fantastic! had the midway special sandwich on homemade focaccia. it was so yummy and fresh. bread is out of this world. i had to try one of the blueberry muffins as well and wow it was delicious. had to get a few other pastries to take home. definitely recommend this place. it's tiny and doesn't accommodate many people, but it's worth the wait!
