forget the sanwiches. crab cake gods. i've honestly never tried their cuban sandwiches...
this new food truck is an extension of michelle faedo's old shop in ybor and has been slowly making rounds around tampa.
crab cake-- let me speak on the crab cake. it looks like palm-sized lump of weird, breadedness-- ugly-looking. but once you crack through the outer crumbs, a smell of garlic, spices, curry(?) with a hint of crab spills out along with the gooey insides. i wish the inside was not so gooey, but biting into the mixture can be forgiven. whoa... everything you smelled was in the taste... plus a sharp, citrus bite. it's unexpected-- but it adds a whole other dimension to the flavor and makes this item stand out over all others.
others-- other items like the empanada (one bite and the seasoned ground beef spills out along with its spicy-filled smell. empanada shell wasn't too thick and assisted the beef flavor without drowning it) and deviled crab (ooo hype! great flavors, good breading, crunchy, obvious crab flavor) are delicious, especially coming from a food truck, but i have to admit, the crab cake will be my reason for seeking this place out.
value-- great portions for the price.
