mezcal is as good as it gets.... we sat out on the patio on a beautiful night....my wife had the pork with the estafado mole, my son (who is 7, but very adventurous) had the chicken with the estafado mole, and i had the pork with the coloadito mole...we all loved it!. the moles were flavorful and unique, the meat was prepared perfectly, and the oaxacan cheese was great...the rice and black beans were nicely paired with the regional dishes.
the moles are made with an experienced hand, and it shows, they are delicious! the margaritas were also worth mentioning, there was no mix in these, they were perfectly sweetened and had plenty of repasado tequila in them....
the only thing that outshined the food and drink was the people, the staff were courteous and the gentleman running the place was great. the moles are his mothers, and his gracious manner and detailed explanation of the menu and tradition exemplified their commitment to oaxacan cuisine, and the food shows it!
go to mezcal now, you won't be disappointed....my only disappointment is that i had to go back to texas and won't be able to get back to mezcal sooner!
