disappointing. it's advertised a lot and is a popular breakfast place. we went at about 11 am and there were a few people sitting at tables in rows, with little space in between. the decor was regimented wooden tables, painted in different bright colours, like the fashionable beach hut style. it looked too square for the lovely scenery and garden atmosphere around. the view of cesmealti bay and across the gulf of izmir is stunning. sadly the restaurant was not. nobody from the staff was around when we finally got inside up the stone stairs and through the garden. we did see one table being served a very nice breakfast with lots of fresh fruit and salad, nice simit and bread and many dishes arriving. our simple omelettes were plonked down on the table with poor service from waiters who didn't smile , and got my friend's omelette order wrong. she'd wanted only tomatoes and cheese with no meat. they brought it with salami, while my mushroom and sucuk omelette was nice but scarcely a mushroom slice to be found. wed also asked for a simit, but we had to ask again after the bread basket arrived with only sliced bread in it. the teas came and were fine, but the coffes we ordered after the omelettes were awful. my cafe latte was just latte - maybe i misread the menu? not an ounce of coffee in it, but very sugary boiled milk. my friend's filter cafe was actually french press coffee, not filter, and she said it was awful. it wasn't cheap, but alos not expensive. i wouldn't want to go back though - a total lack of atmosphere or pleasantry. we were simply paying customers funding a cafe -restaurant, and put up with by the staff.
