melt ice creams

watch for this little yellow shop as you are heading westbound on rosedale. their small batch style ice cream will blow you away! i personally would walk an hour in the texas august just to get more of their lavender and honey flavored ice cream. do remember to compare them more to a small batch gelato shop rather than a brahms. their flavors change by the day, so visit often!

ps though i am not vegan, i believe they are working on a number of vegan flavors and lactose free flavors.

homemade. has very unique flavor choices. the ice cream is all homemade and tastes good.

i want to start out saying this is my favorite ice cream. i'm personally in love with the creme brûlée. i get it every time i go. unfortunately last time i got a pint and i am searching for the brûlée. the ratio of ice cream to melted sugar fragments is poor. the flavor is spot on. i just wish there was more sugar shards. in the past the ratio has been perfect. guess this was just an off batch. hopefully they keep an eye out for the next one.

i have a need for atypical ice cream flavors, and this place almost always satisfies that craving.

if this is your first time here, walk in the door, stop, turn around, and there in the brown butcher paper to the left of the door is the menu of flavors. but.... also look for the almost invisible countertop sheet between the cashier and the ice cream station for the flavor of the day. i usually go for this.

and they are generous with their portions: a large (3 heaping scoops) is only $6.50 and if you like cones they make them in house here just like the ice cream.

oh: park on the side street, not in their teeny tiny lot. there is a reason that stop sign is tilting more that 45degrees :)

love this little place! the ice cream is so smooth and decadent! the waffle cones are made in house just as the ice cream is. i have yet to try one of their recipes and not like it! parking lot is a challenge to get in and out of, but well worth it. the friendly staff is always a pleasure as well.

i have two heavenly ice cream experiences that come to mind- one at melts and the other eating gelato at piazza navona in rome.  now whereas the surroundings at melts is absurdly far from the beauty that is rome- the ice cream and delightful staff made this place truly memorable. let me not forget to mention the cones that were the freshest and tastiest ever.  cheap it isn't ,but it is cheaper than flying to rome.

this place was amazing!! the cones were soooo good and the work staff was very nice! i was annoying and wanted to try almost every flavor before knowing what to order and they were very patient! the ice cream was delicious! i wish they had more than just 5 flavors a day and kept a constant menu with other changing a one or two ice creams every month! but other than that, it was a cute little store with a fun wall to take pictures in front of!

really good ice cream! love how creative this company is with the names of their ice cream, and how they change the flavor a daily. my greatest kudos to them is that they don't overwhelm you with options. 6 creative, delicious flavors to choose from makes the experience much more enjoyable!

love their taco tuesdays (ice cream on a taco-like waffle cone served on tuesdays)! using quality local ingredients, melt pushes the boundaries of traditional dessert by serving unique, seasonal flavors from pineapple jam with caramel-cinnamon rum to thai iced tea. love the fresh waffle cones that are made on site. most of all, i love its affordable price ($3.50/ scoop), its yellow wall and the fact that they serve dairy-free options!

a hidden gem. always outstanding ice cream. well worth a visit. they will let you sample flavors. the flavors change all the time. you can check their facebook page for the current selections.

this little place had people constantly walking in. after standing in line the salted carmel was awesome! i recommend the waffle cone too!!!

super cute and super unique, melt is located in the hospital district, on a tiny lot on rosedale. the shop itself is tiny as well, and the menu only has 6-7 flavor options on it. however, what they do, they do well, and each flavor at melt is handcrafted and imaginative, combining all sorts of interesting ingredients and flavors, with vegan options available as well. another perk is that they switch up their menu every couple weeks, so there's always an incentive to stop by and try a new flavor before it's gone. and if you do fall in love with a flavor and want it to last a little longer, you can buy pints in the store, though they are expensive at $8 each.
the atmosphere of the shop is very trendy and creative. there is a chalkboard outside for guests to doodle on, bright colors, fun decorations and friendly staff inside, and if you like their page on facebook, they are always putting on events at the shop or around town, like a recent 2 day christmas in july special with exclusive holiday flavors.
melt is one of a kind, and definitely a place worth visiting again and again.

delicious flavors, cute space, friendly employees. a perfect place to try unique ice cream flavors with friends and family. my only complaint is that the scoop size could be a little bigger considering the price.

a gem!!! extremely delectable. great service and a super cool vibe in a burgeoning area of town. go and indulge. don't feel guilty...go ahead and get two scoops. i'll be back....maybe again tonight.
