i admit, i'm a sucker for all things european, especially german stuff (i've gone as far as learning spanish and german, though i've all but forgotten all that i've learned lmao), so i absolutely had to go here when i saw it on zomato. the interiors are really pretty and reminds me of my trips to europe - of the quaint cafés that you can find there and all that.
anyway, i'm here to review mehl & zucker so let's get on with it. so for my drink i ordered hot chocolate. it was bland, and i don't think there's anything wrong with my tastebuds, but honestly it was so bland it was almost like drinking plain milk. so that was a bit of a disappointment. the cake and pastries we ordered saved our trip though. i like their opera cake, it was just the right amount of sweet. the beer pretzel was salty and a bit hard to break - though maybe i've been spoiled by the softness of the pretzel that one can find in auntie anne's lol.
when the clock strikes 8 in the evening, they have a discount of 30% on their bread and pastries. i was supposed to get a loaf of wheat bread but didn't push through with it as it didn't seem like new stock to me. anyway, i'm glad that we were able to take a detour as i can now finally cross this out of my list of cafés to try lol. also, i like the interior of their washroom! internet is fast, and service is good too. the cakes on display - especially the chocolate rose gateau, looked heavenly! i would rather stare at it all day than eat it to be honest, haha.
