mediterranean grill

απολαυστικό γεύμα. stopped in today for the first time to find this place crowded (and this is with emory between sessions).
was happy to find a lot of no-frills yet tasty choices. the gyro was pretty much as expected (not bad, not magical). they have a number of sauces in addition to the normal tzasiki sauce, including a relatively hot red sauce that was close to a salsa in consistency (did i mention it was hot). i also tried and liked the falafel. it was a little different than the norm around town with more spices and less chick peas.
everything i saw on other tables (a bunch of different salads, plates, and sandwiches) looked good and it does have a wider variety of offerings than the usual gyro and falafel joints.
i know i'll go back to try a number of the different kabobs and probably a couple of the salads.

the hummus & gyros are great! the gyro is even better the next day. the staff are helpful and friendly. the prices are right with lots to choose from.

delish!. my boyfriend and i came across this little "hole in the wall" restaurant. when we went in our opinion changed. this place is so cute and comfortable! service is straight to the point and fast! we literally ordered and recieved our food in no more than 5 minutes. and let me tell ya... you get what you pay for serving wise. the food was terrific. i ordered a greek salad with grilled chicken and it was amazing. my boyfriend ordered the gyro plate with lamb and it was also delicious. we ate off of eachothers plates because one wasn't any better than the other. both delish and so fresh!!!

safe to say we definately will be back soon.

amazing!. best mediterranean restaurant in the southeast hands down!! enough said. try it for yourselves. i recommend the business lunch combo.

no brainer. hands down, this is the best mediterranean/middle eastern fare in the city for the price genre. and speaking of price, you cannot beat the quality and portions for your buck. vegan, vegetarian, meat and religious diet options all here. best business plate lunch price in town i dare you to finish. this is seriously good food. counter service, great friendly staff. many regulars everyday. so much to choose from. apps can easily make a meal. if you haven’t tried it—you are missing out.

they need help at front of house. i always enjoy the food here, however, they need some help at the front of the house. i tried to go their two times last week but left because of the long line caused by the cashier - the cashier was manning the phone and simultaneously trying take orders from customers waiting in line. in my opinion, the cashier should have been assisting customers in line first and disregard manning the phone when there are folks waiting in a line that's almost out the door. i left after the line failed to move at all after 5 minutes 2 times last week! 2x! additionally, the big guy with glasses preparing food and serving customers is always rude and should be kept in the back of the house where he can't interact with the public! i won't be going back for a while ......

disappointment!. i used to frequent the midtown mediterranean grill and always had great experiences. now living in decatur, my boyfriend and i decided to give the location at clairmont and n. decatur a try. right off the bat i couldn’t believe how rude the staff was compared to the midtown mg. the food was good, but they really skimped on portions (especially the $4 plate of hummus). i’m a big believer in second chances, so we gave them another shot - this time with a to-go order. 30 minutes after placing our online order we arrived to pick it up. they mysteriously never got the order. strike one. the manager took our order again, and as a consolation he said he’d upgrade our small hummus order to a large one and only charge us for a small. turns out he charged us for a large hummus and “magically” forgot to give us a receipt with our order. strike two. we get all of the way home and realize that my entrée is not what i ordered (strike three), so i go back to have it exchanged. the manager tells me that, “no, that is what you ordered and now have changed your mind and want something else, but i will switch it for you anyway.” wow. strike four. all of this from the manager, mind you, not some hourly paid teenager. so now on my way home the 2nd time, mediterranean grill calls to tell me that my online order is ready for pick up (is this a joke?!?!?!).. i guess they finally found my original online order and were too dense to put two and two together. strike five. this is the worst example of customer service i have ever received from a restaurant. needless to say, i will never eat at this location again. if you want to eat at the mediterranean grill, save yourself a lot of time and frustration and go to the midtown location.

highly recommended. had dinner here with a large group. the cooks and clerks were friendly and grateful for the business, and the meal was superb. if you love mediterranean-style food, you'd miss out by not going here.

cheap food. 7 bucks for a huge gyro and some really good potatoes, what else can you ask for.

what i love most about this food is that there really is something for everyone – both kiddos and picky parents – and the flavors aren’t completely foreign. if you haven’t tried hummus, a chickpea and tahini puree, then you’ve probably been living under a rock and/or never been to a party or play date.

fantastic food!. mediterranean grill supplied some of the food for the carmen deedy event on nov 17th, and it tasted great! definitely worth eating there in the future!

i've eaten at mediterranean grill quite a few times. it's reliable fast middle eastern food, very popular with students. my go-to dish is the gyro plate, which includes rice and salad, but i've had their large salads several times as well. 0 comments: post a comment newer post older post home subscribe to: post comments (atom)

not great... and rude.

great food!. arrived in atlanta - well here to decatur to be exact and asked for available menu's from the reservation that deliver. after picking a few out of the pile (college town} the person at the desk grabbed and suggested mediterranean grill.

as it is very close i went and ordered to go - the meiterranean grill. service was fast and the guys were friendly. i got the combination feast (a little of everything) and the fried calamari. both orders came with plenty of food for the money the only regret is i would should have ordered extra sauce with both of them.

the combination platter had a layout of beef and lamb and everything was well seasoned and paired very well with the tzatziki sauce and the accompaning gyro slices.

the calamari was lightly fried and came with some spicy tomato sauce that gave it just the right kick.

so if your in the decatur, ga area check this small place out - i am glad i did!
