the food was good but i really like med deli for its salads. the ambience can get a bit noisy during dinner times. i loved the greek salad and the fattoush salad. the moroccan chicken is also quite good. student friendly prices and walking distance from the unc chapel hill campus.

delicious, fresh, spacious. the food is delicious, reasonably priced, beautifully displayed and enjoyable to eat in the large dining room. love the dolmades, humus, souvlaki, tzatziki, etc.

so many choices to choose from- not just on the menu but from the case as well, and this certainly isn't a bad thing. i decided on the beef schawarma and my girlfriend got the chicken salad pita. the schawarma was huge and almost impossible to eat with your hands without looking like a fool, but i tried anyway. it's size didn't take away from the flavor at all; it was well-seasoned and the onion, pickles, and peppers added a good balance. my girlfriends chicken salad gyro was possibly even better than the schawarma and was refreshingly sweet tasting with raisins and almonds mixed into the chicken salad. we only got two fruit kabobs as sides but ended up full anyway from the large portions. i would definitely recommend checking out the deli!

unbelievable selection of food! a choice for every palate. homemade pitas to enjoy with your meal. very reasonably priced for the amount of food you get.

mediterranean deli is exactly what it says it is, but it is so much more than that. glass cases house an impressive selection of salads, sides, and apps (including five different kinds of hummus), yet that is barely scratching the surface. other glass cases store bars, baklava, and cakes, including several gluten free options. there are also paninis, platters (shawerma, souvlaki, gyro, etc.), and fatayers (boat shaped middle-eastern pizzas), as well as rotating specials. the sheer abundance of options can be intimidating and make decisions difficult, but that is about the worst that can be said for this place.

excellent selection of middle eastern and mediterranean inspired food. order at the counter and your food is delivered to your table. the grilled salmon was very good and the various sides were also fine. the stuffed peppers were amazing, the stuffed cabbage also good. spanikopita was undercooked on the bottom. gluten free pita better than the standard pita bread. very impressive condiment bar. can be very busy and noisy at times.

great selection of food. very reasonable prices. fast friendly service. and really really delicious food. the portions are very generous.
their lamb kofta kebab is particularly good, as are the fatayers.
the date baklava is also very tasty.

latent racial bias of saturday night manager bubbles to surface. i placed a takeout order for two gyro platters. when i arrived to retrieve them i went to the counter and after asking my name the cashier retrieved a bag sitting in the counter. she rang it up without using my coupon. it took longer to adjust this than one would expect, but after the manager came a made up the difference it was fine.
i'm at my car when i noticed that the bag seemed to hold gyros instead of platters. i informed the manager who responded that i essentially got what i paid for. after i told him that he was in fact wrong he told me that i shouldn't have grabbed the order from the counter in the place. he went to the back and gave me the correct order. i informed him that i don't grab food from counters and that he owed me an apology. he refused and repeated that i should not have grabbed the food from the counter. offended by this assumption and his aggression toward me i told him that he needed to learn what it meant to be a manager and stop acting like a dick. he said that i was disrespecting him. finally, he got something right.

very popular .. for a reason!. whenever we're in, or passing through, chapel hill-carrboro, and don't have time for a sit-down meal, we debate whether to do take out from the mediterranean deli for healthful organic and natural food or from gourmet kingdom for amazing szechwan.

both are great values with delicious food and friendly service. this trip, the med deli won, and we took home a falafel plate, a lamb gyro plate and a couple of packages of the med's supremely good organic pita bread.

although the atmosphere is no-frills cafeteria style, it works here. the med deli is usually packed with students and local folks, service is friendly and prices can't be beat.

great food at a great bargain and wonderful location. i wish i could say the same about the staff.. they certainly aren't the friendliest or representative of southern hospitality. while it's not enough to prevent me from patronizing, it could use some work.

i've had better. the food was disappointing considering the high ratings, maybe since we came around 2pm and lunch had been a busy time. but the food that sits out under the counter is just spooned on your plate without being heated. i got the lamb kebab and the lamb itself was really good. but the rice it sat on was cold as well as the grilled vegetables and mediterranean quinoa that were my sides. i would only order the food that's cooked to order, don't get the items under the counter. there are some interesting choices but i prefer my food freshly prepared.
