new years day 2017...walked in at 130pm...hardly anyone there. seated right away...friendly hostess, order taken & drinks served...and that is the last of the good things to say about this place. chowder and salad 20 mins later...chowder was luke warm and bread never arrived tho it was "on the way" (some "problem" in the kitchen). 45 mins later we finally saw a person...he asked how we were. told him we were waiting and in a bit of a time crunch now. he apologized & left and immediately brought our 2 plates of halibut fish and chips. cold greasy nasty expensive fish with pooled grease under the fish and on the also cold fries. breading on the bottom of the fish pieces came off and turned into greasy mess..worst $50 meal i've had in a long time!! driving home feeling nauseated... cant give less than 1 star or i would!!

mediocre but friendly. we always get very friendly service here. you can tell slow service is usually an issue in the kitchen and the servers really do work hard to earn your business (and tips!). the food is hit and miss. sometimes it is fantastic and sometimes it is a little lackluster, but i keep going back! the area does not have much in the way of restaurants so i think they can get away with mediocre food.

milwaukie oregon mcgrath location. would not refer others to this restaurant. poor quality service, little if any manager in charge, and no oversight on quality of service or food going out. sad, as it could have amazing potential if prioritzed by corporate.

slowwwe service. it's been 45 minutes now, and still no bread

pretty good food; lots of choices, maybe too many. but as another reviewer states, very slow service. i got the impression it was not necessarily our server's fault, but the kitchen's?

great food, good prices, very slow service. while traveling for business, this was reccommended by a local as a great place for seafood. we called ahead (since we had a party of 9) and when we walked in the place was very busy. however, it seemed to be all elderly clientele for the "early dinner" rush. they were able to seat us in ~15 min. which seemed very reasonable.
they have a vary wide menu selection and all of the prices were pretty reasonable.

once we all finally received our food, everything tasted great and was cooked well. they did mess up some substitutions that were requested but the waitress addressed them immediately.

the biggest issue was that from the time we ordered to the time the main course was delivered was nearly an hour! by that time, the restaurant was mostly empty (which was only ~7:30 pm). also, the bar was very slow with drinks and we had to remind the waitress on multiple occasions we were waiting on drinks.

overall if i were back in the area, i would go back but only after i've tried some other places first. i would also probably not take a large group there as that seemed to slow down the service tremendously.

the fish and chips are very oily...like oil dripping off each piece. been like that at every mcgraths that i've ever been to, so i guess that's just the way they roll...?

the new orleans catfish is good. i recommend it.

wonderful fresh fish. i have been going here for 20 years, never had a bad meal, always wonderful and we love the large salads and the bread too. great wine from the bar and highly trained courteous staff. will return again and again. the fresh fish is wonderful and they have about 20 different types depending on the time of the year.

the best happy hour! i had a great experience! would recommend for anyone. the menu is very diverse.
