mccoy's place bar and grill

the burger was awesome.  probably one of the top five burgers i have had in cincy.  my wife had the mccoy steak hoagie which was a large ribeye sandwich.  definitely back again.

larry and i wanted to grab a bite for dinner and everyplace on colerain was packed - so we headed off the main drag and up springdale rd to mccoy's place . it's an irish bar that also serves food.  i have to say it's a very neighborhood friendly place - it felt like cheers! everybody knows everybody - people come in and everybody says hi - the local softball team made of firefighters and police officers comes in after their game - it's very storybook. they don't have a website or an online menu - so i'm going off of memory here. i started with a side salad - fine and dandy - plain but the ranch was good. yum fo ranch. larry got boneless wings in mild sauce - they were spicy for mild. i have to say - i don't understand unbreaded boneless wings - they're just hunks of chicken breast. but for hunks of chicken breast - they were pretty good. i got the irish pot roast sandwich with a special zingy sauce. it was really good and very filling. the pot roast was tender and juicy - the cheese was excellent and the sauce added a ton of flavor. why should you go? well - as an outsider - i didn't get the loud welcoming - but i did feel comfortable there. they were really busy and the service was slow - but very friendly. the wings were fine but the sandwich was really good. they also serve breakfast so you might check them out for that - i have a feeling it's only on weekends.

great place. fun family friendly atmosphere. variety of good food on the menu with a friendly staff and reasonable prices. ask about specials and coupons!

wonderful!. this place had awesome service and great drinks! also had the best reuben i have had in years! i was also able to order a strawberry daiquiri and get it! i will visit this place often!

i have had dinner at mccoy's place many a friday night since the change in ownership. the food has always been good and hot. lots of choices and all very good. the friday night steak special is awesome. highly recommended!

great food...good value. we came across mccoy's place on a rainy day....early afternoon.. we went in and was greeted by the people sitting at the bar... like we were old friends.....ordered our food...fish sandwich , chili and fries...great grub...the beer was cold the service was great...we will be stopping back by soon.

mccoy's. service was ok. took awhile to get our food. which meant it was all cold. one dish had to go back as it was too cold to eat and this was their special. my son & i order burgers, well done. what we got was almost all pink. may give one more try but not hopeful.

the food here is amazing!! you have to try the pot roast on a bun!!!

best place. i loved this place. great food. loved the burgers. great service. everyone was nice. they need to add a bigger sign tho to find them.

the quality of the food barely outweighs the wait for it. my family went to mccoy's for three reasons 1) kids eat free on tuesday 2) they participated in the local taste of colerain and we didn't get to try them out there, 3) someone else on urban spoon rated it the best bar burger they'd ever had.

our two children came with bags of cheerios in tow but their snacks didn't last the 10+ minute wait it took to order our food. that sent warning lights off left and right about what was in store. my tuesday special margarita was good but another 5+ minute wait before it came to the table.

true to form, the kitchen was s-l-o-w (25 minutes?) but the burgers we had were quite tasty. the fries were even better. kids portions were good for the $4.50 it would have cost us.

i had to flag down the waitress for a check and then again to take it. the table near us, who ordered 10 minutes behind us was served just before we left. the wife was clearly not happy.

i'd rate it a 3 - we weren't unhappy with the meal and might consider going back if we had no schedule and no kids to entertain for an hour twenty meal.

check with 15% tip (generous for the quality of service we got): $20.50 (counting the two free kids meals).

cool bar. get the irish pot roast sandwich. it is great. friendly bartender and patrons made for an entertaining afternoon.

new owner wants to meet you!. as the new owner, as of may 2010, the staff and i invite you to 'check us out!' we boast a friendly atmosphere, with great food and fine spirits. our irish theme adds to the fun! we now have a great patio area to relax, dine and sometimes hear live music. we have a full bar available outdoors as well. we have recently added a 'cornhole' court, with 2 sets. you are welcome to play at anytime.
our menu is larger than ever with a lot of choices. appetizers, salads, sandwiches, basket dinners and every evening a dinner special! monday is wing night at only .40cents per large wing, in any increment. tuesday is kids eat free! also all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner. wed. is meatloaf, our famous recipe. thursday is pork chop night. tuesday-thurs. the dinner specials are only $7.00. the weekend brings steak! everyone's favorite. get an 8 oz. rib eye with baked potato and salad for only $8.00. a 12 oz. strip for only $11.00. sundays are our 6oz. rib eye dinner for only $6.00.
happy hour every weekday from 2-7pm.

what a spot!. mccoy's is better than ever under new ownership. still the best food in town with added weekend specials. great music. plus, i've been told there will be upcoming events. the patio is a relaxing atmosphere for a bite to eat with family and friends. we had a blast last saturday night. the place was rocking!

great bar & restaurant!! excellent wings! good prices! building needs to be expanded a bit for some more room. but it's nice to have place like that close to home.

rock'n robin. mccoy's place is a great place to meet your family or friends for dinner, to watch your favorite sports or drinks. mccoy's is a local neighborh restrauant with the felling of home. it reminds me of the tv show "cheers" the place everybody knows your name. mccoy's is a non-smoking atmosphere that allowes everyone to have an enjoyable time. sporting events are a favorite at mccoy's, but they also have live music. (check the calandar of events posted at the restrauant.) the menu has the traditional pub food with a home cooked taste.
