great little place in fargo. lamb chops were excellent. steaks look great. nice wine selection. very nicely furnished and comfortable. will definitely go back. pricey for the area but worth it.

i'm a ribeye or ny strip guy. i like flavor. reluctantly i ordered the elk as i was afraid it would be tasteless or dry. wow!! totally surprised how tender and flavorful plus the presentation was a work of art. great pairing of spinach salad and autralian wine. hostess & waiter were professional and friendly which is what a road warrior needed!!
must eat here again.
and i live in chicago with a lot of talented chefs.

once again, i was surprised by another restaurant in the fargo/moorhead area that featured fine dining in a great setting. the food was very good, the service was excellent and it was a relaxing meal.

excellent experience! the red curry scallops were perfect; not super spicy, touch if coconut milk flavor and it didn't overwhelm the fresh seafood taste. additionally, the rack of lamb was very tender and cooked to a perfect medium rare. we will definitely be back!

best food i've had. i chose to go to this restaurant for my engagement dinner. i had the lobster mac n cheese. the spinach noodles and goat cheese sauce was amazing. could've used a little more lobster meat but it was tasty. the service was spectacular and i loved the jazz band they had on a thursday night. whenever i can afford it i would love to come back. worth the money and the wait!

i love maxwells!. i just moved to fargo from washington dc and very snobbily thought that there wouldn't be any good food in fargo. not true! i'm obsessed with maxwells and i love their dinner and brunch menus - and the amazing drinks. this is where i always take out of town guests when i want to impress them with the best that fargo has to offer!

exceptional food/service. from the time we walked in the door, until the time we walked out, we were treated like regulars. the service was impeccable. we never felt rushed; timing between appetizer, salad and main course was perfect. our server was attentive, and our drinks never went empty. the wine list is extensive for a city the size of fargo, and a wine spectator award winner to boot! now on to the food!

for an appetizer we had the lump meat crab cakes with tomato and avocado. crab cakes are one of our favs, so every time we eat at a new place it’s the first thing we eat. i can honestly say these were the best crab cakes we have ever tasted.

i had the grilled beef rib-eye with gorgonzola cheese. first of all i am a steak nut and usually not a fan of "stuff" on my rib-eye. that all changed after the first bite. the steak was cooked a perfect medium rare, and fork tender. the cheese really complimented the steak and the combination of flavors was great.

for desert i had the banana chocolate chip bread pudding. here i thought i had to be in the south to get good bread pudding. this desert was amazing.

this is a top notch restaurant, and in all my travels throughout the us, maxwells is a new restaurant in my top 5 places ever eaten! i wish we didn’t live 200 miles away or this would be a regular, but we will be back!

outstanding. when it comes to all aspects of your dining experience-atmosphere, service, and food--maxwells is truly outstanding in each. often they will have live music, and we are always greeted warmly through the double doors. the staff are sincerely cordial and are attentive to your needs and preferences. the food is most excellent. what i enjoy most is their ever-changing menu and specials, and the true craft of each dish. the blend of flavors and elements put together in each dish is excellent, i have never had a dish i did not care for. the maxx bar is also very nice, their martinis are some of my favorite. i would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, it is our favorite.

great, great, great!. whenever we are looking for a good place to eat we immediately think of maxwells. great food, great service, great atmosphere. if you haven't been, you need to stop by.

lovely. came here with a group of people for a b-day supper. we got our own room, which was very nice. the menu was a little intimidating but our waitress was very knowledgable. the food and drinks were superb! i had the swordfish, never tired it before, but it was delicious! a few of us split a chicken and pesto flatbread, also very good. great flavors and fresh tasting. as they describe it, it's casual fine dining. yes, it's a little pricey, but oh so worth it!

outstanding food!

it was my first time eating at maxwells tonight and i absolutely loved it. the term melts in your mouth, well the filet mignon did. it was cooked perfectly and tasted even better! i will most definitely return and bring more friends to enjoy the amazing food and atmosphere!

fantastic!. our visit was a fantastic time as it always has been. the service is prompt and attentive. the menu is the most creative and diverse in the fargo moorhead area. loved the new expanded lunch menu! my mother and i both ate for 20 bucks. i would highly recommend it to anyone in the west fargo area.
