at first i wondered why our order took so long and then i bit into my catfish. it was moist hot and crisp. and after being in the restaurant business i know how that is accomplished. catfish doesn't sit out awaiting to be battered. it is refrigerated at proper or below temperatures. and then the cold fresh fish meets the very hot clean oil, for a great end result the homemade tarter only enhanced the experience. the french fries are cooked to order and always hot and fresh.
i have been trying to give up fried foods in order to get into better shape but i have a cheat day set aside for masons and well worth it

really really good!. ate here for the first time today - what a delightful place! i had the catfish, shrimp & oyster platter and every single bite was excellent. my son had the grilled pork chop & said it was fantastic. huge portions, great prices & the most delightful manager (owner?) - we'll definitely return!

wanted to try a different restaurant, so i looked on yelp. this restaurant was recommended. i ordered the catfish basket for $4.99, and when i got my food, i was surprised. for that price, i get 2 large filets, plus fries, and 3 hush puppies. wow! i took a bite, and it was the best catfish i've had in the area. i have put this restaruant as my go-to place when i'm craving fried catfish.

wasnt happy at all. it was my first time having catfish from here.. im a huge seafood lover.. i got enough for me my wife and my mother in law which needless to say was kinda expensive. my mother in law ate first.. as soon as i brought it home.. and didnt like the taste, we thought it was just her.. but next my wife says it tasted funny..then me..and it did have a funny uncooked taste to it..they askd us to bring it back...we did..and they said they cooked it harder or longer,,when we got home it still had that funny uncooked taste to it.. the shrimp was good.. but i wouldnt recommend the catfish.. it tasted more like sushi.. but the staff was nice and courteous.!!!

won't honor coupons. we had lunch with friends yesterday at mason's.each couple had a coupon for buy a menu item,get one free.
even though the coupon does not say only 1 per table after our friends ordered and paid for their meal,when we ordered and went to pay for our meal they would not accept our coupon.i said ok-we would sit at different tables we were told no "we know you are together."
in short-they cheat you on coupons.

great place. we had a groupon, so we tried mason's. what a great surprise! it's in a strip center by the home depot in grand prairie. it's small, but very clean and nicely decorated. the gentleman that waited on us was very friendly and helpful. we each ordered the catfish dinners, and also a cheddar cheese stuffed jalapeno appetizer. everything was delicious. prices were very reasonable, and portions were huge. i highly recommend mason's. we will definitely be going back, with our without a groupon.

the best catfish ever!. what a treasure! this place is clean, the service is friendly, polite and efficient, the portions are very generous, the prices are excellent. and most important, the food is fabulous! this is the best fried catfish i have ever put in my mouth....and i have eaten a lot of catfish! the fries are dusted with just a touch of cajun spice, just enough to make them interesting. the cocktail sauce is homemade and wonderful, the tartar sauce is very good. we tried both the fiillets and whole catfish - both are wonderful - crisp outside and moist inside. ditto for the fried shrimp. everything is super fresh and prepared to order. also tried the grilled chicken sandwich, and it was excellent. good, freshly-made sweet tea this is a new weekly treat for us. i can't think of a single complaint about this dining experience!

without a doubt the absolute best catfish in dallas. great service ,clean as can be and service that is beyond the norm. lovely people and great food. we will go back. what a find.

deeeelish. great service and fresh food, even 30 minutes before closing, only neg comment is that they ran out of gravy, so none for my potatoes. alot of good food for not alot of money

service extraordinary! good food!. we bought a groupon coupon. too bad we didn't get more than one. we are going back.

the service was better than most restaurants. the guy couldn't do enough to please us. great food, too.

definitely a must try for anyone.

catfish, shrimp and more.. this second location is as good as the other: your order is not cooked until you order it, the house cocktail sauce is fantastic, the catfish and shrimp are very good, and the weet tea won't make your teeth hurt.

the food here is fantastic. we had catfish and it was moist. we also tried the wings and jalapeño poppers. excellent. all the food was fresh and served hot. counter help very friendly. we will definitely be back.
