fantastic!. my husband and i went to marzano for dinner to celebrate our anniversary and we couldn't have chosen a better place. first, the setting is very quaint and quiet. it has upscale italian food with none of the pretense and snobbery of an upscale restaurant. it's very comfortable and romantic. the staff was exceptional in service and genuinely friendly and helpful. the food was very well prepared and delicious. we both decided on specials the evening we were there. my husband had aged beef tenderloin with pinot noir reduction, balsamic vinegar, cippolini onions, and smoked rogue bleu cheese served with root vegetable puree and asparagus. i ordered a dish that included salmon, scallops, clams, and black tiger prawns served with a saffron jasmine rice cake all in a saffron citrus broth. the bleu cheese, pinot noir, balsamic sauce on my husband's steak was to die for and the meat was prepared correctly to his specifications. he even enjoyed the root veggie puree and asparagus, even though he is a notorious non-veggie lover. the seafood in my dish was well done and flavorful. the jasmine rice cake was incredibly delicious, especially in combination with the broth. we were both very pleased with our entrees. because it was a special occasion, we both ordered dessert. i had the tiramisu and my husband had a raspberry tart made with fresh, local raspberries. both were exceptional. one thing i distinctly loved about the tiramisu was that instead of topping it with a dusting of cocoa powder, it was topped with tiny bits of chocolate. the flavors were very well balanced. we will definitely dine at marzano again in the future.
