had dinner there last tuesday it was great. my dinner choice was one of their nightly specials "all anatra affumicata". it was the best italien dish i had in years. very creative menu using lots of fresh incredience. to compare olive gardens to marzanost is like comparing mc donalds to ruths chris.

our favorite italian restaurant, everything i've had here is delicious. my husband always orders the lasagna bolognese or spaghetti with meatballs. i like to branch out more than he does, and highly recommend the gnocchi al contadino with a squash, sausage and panchetta ragu. so good. the chicken gorgonzola with artichokes and prosciutto over penne and the linguine al mare are wonderful too. really, anything and everything here is amazing. makes for a romantic and delicious date night!

we love this restaurant. marzano's is a fixture in this community (suburban tacoma), and for good reason. we have always found pleasant service, although things can slow down when the restaurant is full. it is also true that the restaurant is small, and that it can feel cramped when it's crowded. note however, that this restaurant's many, many fans don't care! that's because the food is that good. the food is sophisticated italian, complicated, and clearly prepared with care, expertise, attention, and first-rate ingredients. couldn't ask for more.

great. first time at marzanos. if you like steamed clams, you will be licking the bowl clean at marzanos. i had the linguini al mare, and it was awesome. brian, our waiter, was very informed with a wonderful personality

food good but our server was absent most of the time. fish was overlooked but the polenta and rabbit was excellent. inside smelled like mold .

uncomfortable. seating is cramped and hardly intimate. tables too close to one another. music is loud and conversation difficult. you are more apt to hear the dialogue at the next table than from your date across from you. decline seating in a corner as you may be pinned in there later by a party of six as they push tables together to accommodate them. food good. service a bit rushed but friendly.

the food is good but the service sucks. the hostess would not even make eye contact with us and speak to us when we asked her a question.

great italian. my husband and i ate here just on a whim. couldn't get in the first night of our trip-completely booked the whole night, so were really determined the second night. we ate on the deck, and had some delicious food. i had chicken piccata, husband had the spaghetti and meatballs. service was flawless, timing was perfect, wine recommended by server was exactly what i wanted. highly recommended!!!

amazing. hands down one of the best italian restaurants i have ever been to. the timing is always great, although when busy it does get a little slow, due to the influx of dishes sent to the kitchen i'm sure, but service never lacks. i have the caesar salad every time, and it is by far the best i have ever had, and caesar salad is my favorite. the tortellini aurora is fantastic as well, order it without the 'speck' if you are a vegetarian. and don't forget to finish the night with tiramisu and espresso. great place for a date night. i have been four times now, and each time i leave immensely satisfied with both food, wine, and service.

may be tacoma's best. flavorful food, nice cozy atmosphere, the cheese torta is worth the trip alone. never had a bad meal here...and that's over multiple years. everyone i know loves this place, tucked away on garfield street next to pacific lutheran university in parkland.

fantastic!. my husband and i went to marzano for dinner to celebrate our anniversary and we couldn't have chosen a better place. first, the setting is very quaint and quiet. it has upscale italian food with none of the pretense and snobbery of an upscale restaurant. it's very comfortable and romantic. the staff was exceptional in service and genuinely friendly and helpful. the food was very well prepared and delicious. we both decided on specials the evening we were there. my husband had aged beef tenderloin with pinot noir reduction, balsamic vinegar, cippolini onions, and smoked rogue bleu cheese served with root vegetable puree and asparagus. i ordered a dish that included salmon, scallops, clams, and black tiger prawns served with a saffron jasmine rice cake all in a saffron citrus broth. the bleu cheese, pinot noir, balsamic sauce on my husband's steak was to die for and the meat was prepared correctly to his specifications. he even enjoyed the root veggie puree and asparagus, even though he is a notorious non-veggie lover. the seafood in my dish was well done and flavorful. the jasmine rice cake was incredibly delicious, especially in combination with the broth. we were both very pleased with our entrees. because it was a special occasion, we both ordered dessert. i had the tiramisu and my husband had a raspberry tart made with fresh, local raspberries. both were exceptional. one thing i distinctly loved about the tiramisu was that instead of topping it with a dusting of cocoa powder, it was topped with tiny bits of chocolate. the flavors were very well balanced. we will definitely dine at marzano again in the future.

what's with all the reviews that refer to olive garden?? this place is amazing.. i will never understand the people that adore olive garden or for that matter, red lobster. ( same company, darden restaurants.) they don't prepare authentic italian dishes, nor do they pay respect to fresh seafood and how it can best be prepared.

marzano's is one of the only restaurants that i would recommend to anyone if they were to dine in tacoma. sad, but true. they serve exceptional dishes, with friendly, professional service.
