good food, horrible service. with an 8pm reservation, we were seated about 20 minutes late. we were waited on by 4 or 5 waiters. the wine service took forever with us needing to ask the host and he delivered the bottle (with 4 glasses, but only 2 were drinking red). he was not arate of the glass of sav blank that was ordered. the apps arrived without a hitch but the entrees were anither story. before receiving our entrees, the table was being cleared of bread plates and silverware and we were presented with dessert menues. nudf said! maybe will return in a year.

market should close. i had read early reviews last year and they basically said sad food and poor excuse for bar pours. now that it has been there a year, i figured we would try it. both my wife and i were very disappointed in the food. i had the "$19 puff pastry crust meatloaf" and she had the "$14 market hamburger". it all reminded us of low quality diner food only, at a much higher end price. the drink pour was a joke (exact metered measure airport pour for big $ but no view of the city skyline). the service was good, but that is about it. the coffee tasted like they dipped an instant bag in hot water once or twice. we left most of the food and drink behind. would not recommend it or ever go back.

somewhat depressing. four of us came for dinner. the dull color of the walls, floors, drapes, and furniture created a drab and uninviting atmosphere (certainly not "warm", as their ads claim). this impression was heightened a table so small that the cheap plastic place mats did not fit without overlapping. the food was very hit-or-miss. the mussels were good, but the bronzini was poor. quite a lot of food was left uneaten, which is always a bad sign (and not due to large portions). the service was slow and the price was high. not a place i would go to relax and enjoy a meal with family or friends.

disappointing first and last visit. how can you "advertise" a lobster special and be out of lobsters before 7 pm on friday night?! good friday of all nights! we were intrigued by a new restaurant in our area, and were eager to try it. while the food we had to order in place of the lobster was good, we were surprised that the special was already gone. the waitress told us this happens often...maybe the quantity ordered needs to be higher...don't drive away other new customers!

average. everybody else's meals came out fine. i order the "seared tuna salad" which i guess had a pronunciation similar to "caesar salad" because that's what i got instead (even pointed to it on the menu when ordering). trying to be a good sport and not wanting to delay our meals, i took the caesar salad anyway. the salad was really no different from any other caesar salad which makes me wonder why it was a little pricey. my falafel burger, which i was hoping would redeem the salad situation, was a tad bland. so as long as you double check your order with the waiter or waitress and avoid those two items then you might get your money's worth and might have a good time at the market.

completely delicious. this isn't really the place to go if you're looking for a quick meal. if you're going to have a leisurely dinner with friends, it's the perfect place! the food is absolutely delicious. i had the duck salad which was dressed with the most delicious vinaigrette! my fiancé had the braised short ribs and had to control himself from licking the plate clean. our friend had the ny strip and managed to finish every oz of food on his plate. the portions were by no means skimpy, they are perfectly sized for one person for one meal. we also enjoyed the best mojitos i've had in nj.

if definitely go back here! aside from the service being a little slow (food service was fast, but finding our waiter for reordering drinks was a little bit lengthy) this was a great experience.

terrible customer service. this restaurant has had bad service since the opening. they can't keep a restaurant manager on staff, and no-one keeps an eye out for basic operations during the night. there is no concern whatsoever when they screw up and no attempt to make it up to the customer or win back the business. additionally, they run out of food on a regular basis.

music good - smell bad - food ok. we are country mile business people and live nearby. we brought friends with us because of the offering of live music. the band was incredible! we will come back every time they have music like this. food and drinks are very expensive. the salads and bread were excellent. short ribs excellent. falafel burger was ok; the tahini served with it was god awful. no one asked "how's everything." just "can i get you anything else or would you like the check." we had to leave the porch area when an awful sewer smell enveloped the area. all patrons out there were offended. we alerted the staff. no one apologized or seem to care. we sat in the bar area (not at the bar) for 2 hours and never got offered service. the previously unseen waitress(es) were blowing out candles long before the band stopped playing. it's like they didn't want people to stay and drink!

had a great easter brunch of fine dining at hibiscus with family and friends . there was great selection of large food choices that were all delicious. karlene the proprietor was helpful in making the arrangements and assuring we were well served. we had a private kid friendly dining room for 15 guests including three (3) children. the room had a two piece steel band that served us and guest in an adjoining dining room. my wife and i enjoy regularly hibiscus after church for sunday brunch for fine dining and jazz in an intimate setting. a great plus for us is byob.

terrible food, careless service. i wanted to like this place and waited 'til they were open a while and had gotten the kinks out. but food was horrible and very unappetizing looking. all sorts of different entrees rolled into meatball-looking balls for some strange reason. our waitress never even brought bread to the table. i assumed they didn't serve it but one of my friends later mentioned other tables had gotten it. total waste of a dinner out and no way we'll ever return.

no love for the graduates of harding twp school. i am organizing a 25-year reunion for my harding township school class. i sent 2 emails (a week and a half apart) asking the market restaurant if we might be able to use their private dining space for the 30-40 people coming to our reunion. i did not receive a response to either email.

i grew up in harding and frequented the old "harry's", the mt kemble inn and pierre's growing up. i'm saddened that a local restaurant would not respond to a simple request from a group with such deep ties to their community.

can't wait to go back!. had the most fun! staff is very friendly and courteous and was a pleasure to be waited on by them. the wine list was extensive, the menu offered a variety of items all prepared per order. i had the crab cake appetizer, the sirloin medallions and a warm chocolate tart for dessert.

learned that they offer a $20 lobster dinner on friday nights and a prime rib dinner special on sunday and a special menu option for dinner during the week. think i'll go for the lobster friday this week!!

great new place.. it's not pierre's. how many times can we say that? it's not supposed to be pierre's. frankly, i could never stand pierre's and thought it was one of those places crotchety locals identitfy with and overrate, although i recognize the prestige the owner has come to attain and the unique character the place had. anyway, if you were a frequenter of pierre's and are still not over the fact that they "moved on", please do the world a favor and either stay home and mope or just keep your pointless criticisms to yourself.

anyway, market is much more welcoming and approachable than it seems from the road, and the menu is both diverse and of good quality, though the number of selections could be expanded. for that reason, i wouldn't put it in the highest echelon of fine dining found in the area, but that's not really what it's supposed to compete with. part of what makes this place great is that it's nice but comfortable, and not exceedingly showy or complicated. for example, the papardelle with duck was different, done perfectly and priced on par for a quality pasta dinner entree. there is also a burger on the menu that is fantastic, but pricey for a burger.

service was attentive and it was nice to dine outside on the porch, even though we were pushing it at 8 pm in the early spring and the presence of 202 is palpable.

i recommend it and look forward to going back.

nice, but not really gluten-free friendly.. the place is very nice, a little pricey but not really gluten-free friendly. at least i wouldn't say that of a place that doesn't have a gluten-free menu and the waiter has to double check every option you ask.
