located at bernardus lodge, this celebrated restaurant is where chef cal stamenov’s acclaimed california natural cuisine is beautifully paired with more than 1,800 fine wine selections in a gorgeous environment. the seasonal menus here include produce from small family farms, local seafood, and traditional items such as oysters, snapper, sonoma duck, and wagyu beef. marinus received a “grand award” from wine spectator for their wine list in 2012 (one of only 74 restaurants in the world) which is given to restaurants that show an uncompromising, passionate devotion to the quality of their wine program.

wonderful food, exceptional service. i highly recommend this restaurant. it's expensive , but worth it .

my favorite entree at this upscale establishment is the classic tender oak grilled prime beef filet served served with with a twice baked potato.

very disappointing experience last night. the treats from the chef were exceptional. the menu items were unimpressive. diver scallops were overdone. my plate included more spinach than anything. the bream was very ordinary. the waiter was pushing the tasting menu which may have been a better choice but given how ordinary ala carte was , i am glad we did not go there. we asked the sommelier(if you can call him that) for a white wine recommendation. it was very good but then he left it sitting out for it to get warm and no one was refilling our glasses. i had to ask the busboy, who was the only one on his game, to refill my wine glass. for all the rave reviews - this restaurant does not meet the hype.

marimus is one of the best restaurants in california. it has one of the best wine lists in the united states. the flavors of the food are delicate and refined. it is expensive and takes time. i doubt that anyone who voted that they didn't like it has dined at marinus. it is near perfect.
