the hot chocolate here was pretty good and the pastry (oh mon dieu) and the sandwich is pretty nice. they heat up the sandwich so thats a plus but it doesn't heat all the way through.

oh mon dieu was pretty delish but it feels like it's missing something, maybe because it's servers cold but as a pastry if served hot or warm or might be better. overall not a bad pace, quite relaxing atmosphere and good for a meet up place with friends. a bit pricey so watch your wallet

i drive about 40 minutes back and forth to go to this place. i was looking for a coffee shop that offered wi-fi and place bright and quiet enough. i had bought around 40$ worth of bakery and coffee. let me tell you, this place is worth it.

must try: almond croissant and pistachio croissant.

i have to be honest, i was a little disappointed with the 2 items we ordered at mamie clafoutis.

maybe i should have ordered a clafoutis or maybe i should come earlier during the day when all their baked good were fresh out of the oven.

canelés de bordeaux was good though, the rum really came through! not too many caneles available in toronto so i did enjoy that!

pistachio croissant though a little dry and a little stale.

i do love the upstair seating area with different configuration of lounge, sectional sofa, small study table and a communal table.

the shop also not busy at all when we got there and got served right away without the need to get a ticket or wait in line!

/// starting august 1 2016, mamie clafoutis will no longer accept credit cards, it will be cash only and interac !

truth is, one of the main reasons i make the trek to montreal several times a year is for the food. yes, i love the city for its european feel, and the art that seems to envelop the city. but the pastries? the poutines? the smoked meat? hell yah!

interestingly, to me anyway, montreal is the only city i have always visited either with friends and family–never alone–which is unusual for me since i generally travel alone. also, on every visit we have “bunk it out” as i like to call it. or i go with my brother and…well…we bunk it out then too.

one of the best bakeries i've visited in montreal. the staff were friendly and was able to answer all my questions. the ham and cheese croissant was buttery and they grill it for you on the spot so the cheese is warm and melted. the plain croissant is buttery and flaky. the canele was a treat to try. my favorite hands down was the pistashio croissant. nutty, flaky, buttery and everything that a pistashio croissant should be. prices are more than fair for the quality of the pastries.

the bakery was very spacious and modern, but still had an authentic feeling to it. upon entering, we had to grab numbers to get our orders taken. all the foods were on display for our choosing and there were tons of options to satisfy what kind of food you wanted: pastries, desserts, breads, they had it all! i decided on a chicken curry sandwich for lunch

pistachio+almond croissant &.... oh mon dieu was too sweet and heavy for me. too much chocolate filling.

the pistachio+almond croissant was good though, would try the pistachio tart some other time. friendly atmosphere, they got a little tea lounge upstairs lol.

i tried a chevre sandwhich, a almond and pistachio croissant, a raisin roll and a cannelé. the sandwich and croissant were absolutly fantastic. the nut bread they use was a perfect match with le chevre. the croissant was crispy and the filling sweet to perfection. i was a bit disappointed with the roll as it seemed not cooked enough and was too moist in the middle. the cannelé was nice to try but not my favorite. i will definatly go agoain and try more of their goodies.

pretty much everything i had was fresh and tasty. the place always had some people waiting in the lobby waiting to order something at all times, which probably means that it's a place that has a following. i give it a thumbs up too.
