had lunch buffet with the wife. nothing is labeled so i don't know specifically what we tried but it doesn't matter. it was all excellent and i think it is very likely we will come back. lunch buffet was only 8 bucks if you get water (which is what we wanted anyway) and includes salad. very good deal

if i had to pick one italian dish that i gravitate to often it would have to be pizza. i have always liked it and have no shame in saying that yes i can eat many many slices in one sitting.

not impressed.. me and my fiance checked it out last weekend, largely because of the good reviews. we had one of the specialty pizzas (1/2 bianca, 1/2 some pesto pizza). way too greasy (even the bianca side), and the crust integrity was just not there. i like a thin crust, but it has to have some bite - not disintegrate into the cheese. perhaps the crust would hold up better with just a few toppings. if you get a salad, ask for the dressing on the side. mine was drenched and i had to waste half of it because i couldn't eat it. the service was friendly enough and there were quite a few families there so it would probably be a good spot if you like that kind of environment. but if you are looking to expend your calories on cheesy goodness there are many other better pie spots around clt more worth it.

charlotte's best. luisa's must be the very best restaurant in town for both their pizza and antipasto.
try their incredibly low price buffet for lunch. it's worth every penny and more at only $8.00 for all you can eat. the salad is cold and the many varieties of pizza are piping hot.
we've tried lots of other places for pizza and none come even close to luisa's.
jeff (owner) is fantastic!

pizza straight from italy. thin crust, fresh juicy tomato pizza sauce, and a brick oven.....just like i had in italy a few weeks back. they do it right with their dinner pizzas for sure. it is so hard to say enough when you should be full. everything is fresh and the staff is extremely friendly.

luisa's pizza is probably the best place in clt to go eat pie, period. there is a good place called hectors, but it is an ass-whipping to get to, way the h out towards the plaza or something. anyway, luisa's makes their pie in a big-ass wood burning oven (yes, i have worked that oven!) and their pie is thin crust and awesome. please remember that this is not a choke and puke pizza hut or papa johns or something, so keep your ingredients to a minimum as a thin crust done in a brick oven cannot hold may items, so if you had yer heart set on the pizza hut pan supreme 25 items 'za, well, go get yer stomach pump and order one, ok? but don't do so at luisa's. get 1-3 items and stop it, ok? just wait on it to pop out and now it is time to grosh! the luisa's special is awesome too! what is on it? well, take yer booty on down there and order one and see for yerself! if you know what good pie is, you will be down with this place. also - ask for the waitress with the blond hair - my daughter sez she id the best waitress in the world, and she is!

who doesn't like luisa's?. if you don't like it i suggest you go home and pop another box of frozen hot pocket in the oven, you pizza philistine! this is the place for pizza in charlotte. if they are closed, go to fuel pizza, ok? up on east @ south blvd...anyway - their lunch deal is the booyah best, so hit it. get the plain pizza, the luisa special or just something simple. don't jack it up with 10 ingredients or anything. i used to work here (the oven, baby!) and the old lady luisa is a piece of work - kinda crazy and crabby, but who cares, she has 'za down cold! the iced tea is as good as bojangles tea if you can believe that! get the waitress with the blond hair pulled back into a pony tail - she is pure greatness, or the greatest waitress in the world as my daughter sez...luisa's - what pizza should be everywhere else!

staff so friendly, food so great. luisa's specializes in thin crust, brick oven pizzas. there are tons of great pizza places in charlotte, but this one stands out to me. it is very laid back and would be good for kids if you had them. that being said, it also offers a diverse selection of unique and fresh toppings. we've been a number of times and always enjoyed ourselves. the inspiration to write a review came after we decided to have a birthday dinner there. we were looking for a low key spot for a group of 12 that was outside the normal 8-10 places our friends always seem to go. we settled on luisa's and were amazed to hear how many people had a secret love for this place! we got there around 7:30 on a thursday and were greeted by a friendly waitress who did a great job all night long handling constant drink orders, napkin requests and general questions from the group. my wife had even worked with the owner to drop off a cake earlier in the day which they were happy to serve, with candles.

most people got salads and we got 4 different large pizzas for the table. was just the right amount of food and everyone enjoyed it. the "luisa" pizza was voted the best (although i prefer more meat toppings personally). i will obviously be back and would encourage others to try this gem tucked away towards the bottom of montford dr.
