so far the best deli in town that i can find to compare to a south florida/new york deli! great prices and even better food! can get crowded, but worth the wait.

really?. never in my life have i heard of a bagel place that was closed for breakfast and closed on sunday! we headed here one sunday morning for bagels as an alternative to brueggers only to find them closed. it should be illegal to have the word "bagel" in your name and be closed at these times.

not happy. for a place that has bagel in its name, i am disappointed, it is a sandwich shop.

some interesting hot dog choices. hot dogs seemed like a good idea yesterday, but maybe something a little different than a classic chili dog - thus this was our choice for lunch. in addition to some pretty darn good specialty and classic deli sandwiches and sides, the offer a couple of hot dog choices, just not a chili dog.

the double devil dogs (2 dogs for $6.95) consists of kosher wieners, american cheese, grilled onions & peppers, & spicy mustard on a regular hot dog bun. the wiener is top quality, while the onion & pepper mixture is more of a hot pepper relish, and it is hot - the the devil dog name.

we also ordered 2 dogs with just kraut and mustard, at a cost of $6.85. these are good dogs, as well. same high quality wiener, topped with tasty but rather mild kraut - these are also nice change of pace dogs. both orders come with chips and a dill pickle spear. thrown in a brown's original cream soda, and you are good to go.

good meat & cheese, pick the right bread. this place just stays solid, serving up excellent classic deli sandwiches ( and a few with a twist or two), cold cuts, prepared salads (egg, tune, & chicken), nice bread choices, and some great cookies, all at fairly reasonable prices.

most of the cheese & meats are boar's head, so the quality of the fillings is there, and the real quality of the sandwich, to me at least, comes down to the bread. the very best sandwiches here are the ones on bread - rye, pumpernickel, wheat, multigrain, etc) - rather than either sub rolls, onion rolls, or kaiser rolls, just too much bread for the amount of filling. the kaiser roast beef is a good example - i much prefer it on pumpernickel rather than the normal kaiser roll.

i really like the italian sailor, the harrison, the reuben, roast beef on pumpernickel, and you can always sort of build your own. the double devil dogs are always nice, and rather a different kind of dog.

some really good stuff here. this is not a nyc style deli - they don't cure their own meats, for example & they are polite and friendly - but they offer a nice array of meats, cheeses, home made salads, and sandwiches.

they have boars head products, and they are all good. their egg salad and tuna salad are excellent, their chicken salad is not my favorite. i find their pasta and potato salads sweet for my tastes. they have smoked white fish from nyc, and it is great.

as i said, the sandwiches are very good. the kraut dog is especially good. they make a devil dog, which is not on the menu, and it is worth a try - all beef wiener, hot pepper relish, and cheese - really nice flavors.

they have nice bread choices, and some killer cookies. good solid deli.

lox stock & bagel is one of a kind. this place doesn’t cater to and kind of new trends, it only takes orders from the loyal regulars that frequent it’s counter. lox is no frills and no gimmicks. you won’t find craft beer or panini’s but if you want a classic sandwich at an affordable price, then this is the deli de

emerson, emerson, emerson (no pickle)
we all cry your name...
i for one have dreams of your freshly roasted - unbelievable "melt in your mouth" chicken breast with mounds of stringy hot cheese... on a soft sub roll.... when we go, there's generally 2 or 3 of us... we all kindly say... "no menu, please".... because we are all in love with emerson... emerson.... emerson...

excellent diner and then some!. update review:

went for lunch 11/7/11. in short, still a great place to grab a sandwich and/or various deli items.

they had a busy lunch rush going but my order was taken quickly and arrived quickly as well. i got the turkey reuban and it was delicious. the turkey meat was very flavorful and moist. i was worried about the sauerkraut was going to be too strong of a pairing with the turkey but they partnered perfectly. the light rye bread was warm and moist with just the right amount of fennel seed flavor.

my sandwich, which came with a bag of chips, was $7.15 which is probably a bit high but the taste, size and environment are worth it. my biggest gripe is that they don't open till 10 am so i can't grab my breakfast bagel there.

i don't know why i always forget about this place even though its close to my house. maybe because it is tucked back out of sight in a shopping center off of battleground. also, i don't think i have ever seen any ads, coupons, etc from them. however, i finally remembered to go back for lunch yesterday and remembered how good it is.

lox stock & bagel is ny style deli serving a large array of items. in fact, the name is a mis-nomer given the options available. the layout is a bit cramped but it doesn't take away from anything...it may even add to it. service is always super fast and if want to eat-in just grab a table and they'll be right there to help you.

on top of the genuine ny bagels and smoked fish they bring in fresh, there are all manners of deli meats, cheeses, breads and sides. while all these are available by the pound, they also provide a robust menu. the menu consists of probably 3 dozen sandwiches and burgers plus a handful salads. all are freshly made and generous in size - they certainly are skimpy with the contents. the price points generally run in the $5 to $8 range. on this visit i had their rachel sandwich but swapped the russian dressing for a spicy mustard. served warm on fresh, soft rye bread it was delicious. ruffle chips are the standard side.

one of the real cool things is the drink selection. beside your standard soft drinks, they sell many different bottled drinks including upscale beer. they even have 3 beers on tap including the local red oak brewery.

food: 7/10; service: 9/10; value 8/10; atmosphere 7/10
i really need to remind myself to visit more often!

20 years of memories. this is our favorite deli in town. my wife and i have been eatting here for 20 years now. menu favs are the "skydog" (get it hot), the "pepper cheeseburger", and the "reuben" of coarse. if you have never visited ls&b make today the day. you will not be dissappointed.
