lotus chinese restaurant

not authentic thai food. i ordered pad thai and it was merely lo mein. the sauce just tasted like soy, no special thai ingredients were present. i gave them two stars only because they gave me $3 off for complaining. don't advertise thai cuisine if it's not going to be authentic.

i travel to ashland three to four times per year on business and lotus is my preferred restaurant choice. lotus offers an extensive sushi menu, as well as chinese and other popular asian cuisines, plus a limited number of indian curry options. i have enjoyed every item i've ordered and have never sampled a dish that wasn't delicious. 
 
as far as ambiance is concerned, the restaurant does the best it can with the layout it has - clearly the building was designed for a different type of restaurant - but, if the food's good, the dining space and décor are of minimal importance. who cares if you're dining in a former "denny's" if the food's on-point? that being said, the restaurant is spacious and clean - including the restroom. 
 
so, what's the best lotus has to offer? having eaten several dishes from both the chinese and sushi menus, i have to say that lotus's sushi offerings are the best option. their chinese menu is very good, but their sushi is excellent - on par with sushi restaurants in more cosmopolitan locations than ashland, ohio.  
 
if you're looking for excellent sushi and very good asian cuisine in ashland, lotus should rank #1 on your bucket list...

worst experience i ever had with a restaurant!!  i couldn't get past the first fork full!!  when i asked to speak to the chef, i was told he couldn't speak  english.  i was still required to pay for that garbage!!  enter at own risk!!  any body that says it's a good place is being paid!!

ashlands well kept secret. the menu is eclectic with japanese, chinese, thai and indian food. everything fresh and cooked to order. i can honestly say in the several times we have eaten there, we have never had a bad meal. sometimes the wait can be a little long, but that is the price you pay for having freshly made food, and it is worth the wait. no over done buffet here, and that's a good thing!

lotus best chinese. i moved from columbus ohio, and seen lotus's add in a monthly coupon book, and chinese is one of my favorite foods. i went on 4/14/2013m and tried their sweet and sour chicken, won ton soup,fried rice. this place smell's wonderful when you walk in, the food taste even better than the smell that hits you when you walk in!!! their food is so good, very adicting as i just placed another order after ordering it 3 days ago for more of their pork rice and to try some more new food. this place beats any of the places in columbus and small suburbs near by. thank you for advertising so i was made aware of this resttaurant that i maybe able to keep getting more of your great food.

amazing, do yourself a favor and order something different. everyone likes sweet and sour chicken, and anyone can deep fry. order some great sushi, get some fresh veggies! huge portions and very welcoming owners. don't spend another dime on some chain restaurant without trying this first!

great sit down chinese. we are enjoying having lotus in town and have been making this a regular stop. we have tried their egg rolls, spring rolls and dumplings and they are always fresh. the soups are wonderful and we have enjoyed all of the entrees we have ordered.
