i walked in the door and was welcomed with open arms like i was family sat down and had a look at an amazing array of choices on the
menu the money bags are to die for absolute foodgasym. with all the different choices of rice you won't know what to do with your self you won't be disappointed the chicken won't be giving you tummy aches because it's 100% cage free come on down to lorn thai number 1 in all of kazhakstan

yummmm. eat here regularly and keep coming back as it is delish! funny little place- colourful decor ;), friendly staff, always busy but the food is so good.

dont understand the hype. food is really greasy, the vegetables look like they come from pre-packaged frozen bags, and the flavours aren't spectacular at all.

avoid this restaurant at all cost! it took 15 minutes to get seated, 30 minutes to get a menu. when we questioned the waitress about why it was taking so long to even get a menu she said they were very busy. there was only 4 tables filled with 8 guests in total the rest of the restaurant was empty. food was basic with no flavour. probably the worst thai food i've ever had in australia. i ordered pad siew it was served with the wrong noodles. when i questioned the waitress she had the nerve to say that i had to read the menu properly and that i needed to request the correct pad siew noodles as this is how they serve it to westerners and that i'm not thai she is thai so she knows more about thai food than i do. my husband asked for his larb to be cooked very spicy thai style. i'm pretty sure they didn't cook it fresh as they just served his with larb with no chilli cooked through it just a lot of dried chilli flakes on the side. definitely if you want authentic thai food this not the right place to go.

this is a review in-advance, as i will be going there *tomorrow* for no other reason than that it is my mum's favourite restaurant at the moment. i'm surprised to see some very old reviews here, from when this restaurant must have only just opened. evidently they have learned and improved over the subsequent years as you can see from the reviews, which are much better recently! if i remember, i'll try to update this tomorrow. they would not, for no reason, have become my mum's restaurant of choice for me to take her on her birthday.... ha! as it turns out, they are not open at midday on saturday, so we'll have to go to another one on her list. if you're wanting to eat while visiting geelong for the football, just a couple of hundred metres away, you'll need to wait until after 5 pm to eat here.

best thai we've had in geelong so far. very good service as well. we ordered one of the whole fish dishes, a thai noodle dish with calamari and a fried rice dish.  most mains don't have a vegetarian option, however.

sometimes you go to an asian restaurant, and the food is unfortunately smothered in msg. you start to feel an uneasy feeling in your stomach, and then before you know it you’re thirstier than a camel roaming the sahara.

this is certainly not the case for lorm thai.

firstly, the service is flawless. normally there is one woman who acts as the waitress and front of house, and she always has a friendly smile and great service, so 5/5 there.

the food is light and delicious. there’s a lot of it too which is great as well, but you dont feel sick if you eat it all.

the environment is cosy and home life (considering it used to be a residential property), and it’s great when others are around you enjoying themselves.

honestly, i would highly recommend, and would vote this my favourite thai restaurant in geelong, not because of the delicious food, but because of the service and atmosphere the restaurant provides.

special occasion tonight with close friends at their wedding and they chose lorn thai in south geelong. a variety of thai dishes including thai green curry, chicken and beef satays, a lovely noodles in sweet peanut sauce dish made for a good night out. still rate narai thai in bundoora more highly, but a nice place to eat nonetheless when looking for thai in geelong.

hi! we like lorm thai and visit often during the week days for dinner. the food is fresh and tasty and mains are under $20 each. the service can be slow usually because there is only one waiter/waitress (family member) working but they make up for it with their food and friendly positive presentation. i would recommend going early on a friday night as they get super busy. they do a lot of take away but the kitchen manages to get everything out well. dishes are on par with other thai places i have been but try the mango and sticky rice when in season, really good. recommend and will be back without question. enjoy!

this place is not ran very professionally at all.. to start with, it is set up really awkwardly, with a narrow entrance which is always clogged up with people waiting for takeaways. the second seating area upstairs seemed really dodgy, for lack of better words.
the service is slow as they seem rather understaffed, as is the wait on food. the food itself was average, but had decent portion sizes.

rubbish service stood in the lobby for ten minutes then sat at the table for half an hour without even a glass of water. not busy only three other tables and people after us got served before us. love to describe the food but we walked out without them even noticing 😡😡

went here for the second time, and the second time left abit to be desired. water took 20 minutes to come to the table and the food wasn't very impressive. the pineapple fried rice was pretty tasty. pad thai not so much

i had heard great things, but now i question the tastebuds of those that suggested this place. pad thai was an oily mess. penang curry didn't even taste like one. coconut rice was a gluggy mess. i only had takeaway but the restaurant looks terrible. would definitely not visit again under any circumstances.

standard aussie thai but i had nice crisp veggies. i'd go again.

walked in with high expectations were met with a disappointing experience.

were served quickly and ordered curry puffs for entrée, and for mains a curry, coconut rice and pad thai.
curry puffs were served promptly, and were quite delicious and satisfying!
after finishing our entrees our empty plates were left on the table for about 20 minutes, at which point the curry and coconut rice were brought out.
after a further 20 minutes there was still no sign of our pad thai and no word from the waitress that there would be a wait. it is also worth mentioning that this was a tuesday night, with less than 10 other patrons dining in, so we were expecting quite a short wait on the meals.
we enquired as to the meal's where abouts and after a further 10 minutes with no sign of our meal, we decided that we weren't going to wait any longer, and decided to leave.

with barely an explanation or apology as to what happened to our meal, we paid the bill in full (including price of pad thai), and left disappointed.
will not be returning.
