little tokyo

the food here is absolutely amazing and the service is some of the best you'll find.  we have eaten here numerous times and we routinely get take-out for special occassions, and it never disappoints.  i have seen some of the lower start reviews here, and i just don't get it.  i've been going here since they opened decades ago and it's been consistently terrific.  go - enjoy.

dirty. old. understaffed. depressing. food was marginally ok. rice was good. surprised by free ice cream for desert. will not go back. prefer panda express.

got stuck in the twilight zone - horrible experience!. my husband & i went to little tokyo on 3/21/15 at about 8:30. since there was a wait, i tried to give our names to the lady at the counter but she kept her head down. we waited for an hour without ever being acknowledged. most diners had finished eating & were waiting for their checks, & there were several uncleared tables. after 45 minutes, a party of 4 walked in. the lady motioned them to sit in the waiting area. finally, a man appeared & began bussing a couple of tables, then he motioned to the party of 4. the woman shook her head no, so i thought she was going to seat us - instead we all continued to sit there while they bussed all the tables in the restaurant. it was almost 10 pm when we were finally seated & our drink order was taken. i asked a question about their sushi special, & the woman threw a sushi list & a pen at me. the next thing we knew she was taking the dinner order for the party of 4, so we finished our drinks & left. the woman gave my husband a business card that said they would give us $5 off our next meal - are you kidding me?!? that is just lame!! if she wanted to smooth things over, why didn't she bring us a free sushi roll?? or offer a discount on the spot?? the food is possibly good here, but i'll never know because of her rude, disrespectful treatment.

laid-back, family-friendly sushi spot.

great place. we went on a weekday and the service was great and so was the food. the area is a little sketchy but we didn't let it ruin our meal. the sushi was ok be the other the other things on the menu were much better. they brought out complimentary korean pancake. we were stuffed when we left. will go back occasionally.

really good sushi and they kept bringing free stuff to is. the super duper was super duper!

well i went to little tokyo in cary and wanted to try the shrimp and chicken meal today and to my surprise i bite down on a piece of metal. boy did the hurt my teeth. not buying any more food from little tokyo. i took a picture of the metal and my receipt.

this is the second time i've had a bad experience at little tokyo in cary. this will be the last time i give them $8.61 for food and water.

delicious! this was my first time ordering from here & when i opened my takeout box, i received free miso soup and a free, three piece sushi roll! it was a really nice surprise and the food was amazing! i will definitely be visiting again!

i went to little tokyo having a dinner with my daughter today, i found a piece of styrofoam in the udong(soup) i was eating. i showed that to owner, she just took the soup away and asked me if i want the another udong. i said no because i already lost my appetite then. after that she was acting just as there was nothing happenned. by the time i left there after paying for my daughter's food, my stomach was still growling with hunger and i was very frustrated. never will go back there

little tokyo didn't disappoint me with their selection of fresh fish. no odd odors or strange textures. just wonderfully fresh fish.

awesome experience every time. every time i go i leave happy. the atmosphere is calm and stress free and the service is prompt. every time i have gone the fish has been fresh. they tend to bring you a crab dip appetizer that is tasty. the ginger salad is crisp and has the right amount of ginger. since it is sushi you should expect to pay a little extra but little tokyo's price are extremely reasonable. it's the first place i think of when i crave sushi. the building is a little difficult to find at first and the parking lot is a disaster. that would be my only complaint.

recently tried little tokyo. very good sushi. recommend mexican and crunchy roll.

worst sushi in cary. first off i have seen people write that the service is good here. our experience was very slow service with poor communication. and this was on a weekend with only one other customer in the restaurant. their rating is 95% which is touchy for a sushi place. we had a spider roll that came thickly breaded. who breads spider rolls? it looked like the rice and breading were the fillers, with little else. the sushi was poorly made and falling apart. awful waste of money.

kid friendly- awesome!. we just went there tonight with our three small children. besides the food being delicious, the staff was soooooo nice and so patient with our children. the owner even made a spill proof cup for my 16 month old. she would stop and play with him and bring him random things to entertain him. i loved them. they also brought out a couple of delicious items on the house, that we did not order. we had some sushi, a couple udon bowls, and some teriyaki chicken for the kids. i highly recommend little tokyo.
