we, three women in late 30s, dined on saturday night. busy. we came away thinking that the food was perhaps ok, but the waiting service and communication was very bad. here is an interaction summary.
starters.
us: "spring roll and fried chicken wings please, and two of us do not eat coriander, please no coriander in food. please no coriander in food, but please put a bit on a side dish"
waiter: "no problem"
what arrived was 1 spring roll (as ordered) and 1 deep fried spring roll. the ordered raw spring roll had coriander in it and there was no side dish.
us: "we didnt order this deep fried spring roll".
waiter: "we are out of chicken wings. this deep fried pork spring roll is delicious. you should try it."
us: "no. we dont want it thank you, (waiter takes away) but, hold on hold on.. can we keep that dipping sauce?" (2 different dipping sauces had come to the table)
waiter: "no. this dipping sauce is not for raw roll"
we didnt get to keep the dipping sauce.
mains
us: "beef salad, rare beef pho bo (no coriander please!!), and a vietnamese crepe please."
waiter: "no problem."
what arrived was perfectly a good beef salad, pho with coriander (we could pick it off), but no crepe for me. my friends had eaten their meals by the time i reminded staff i was waiting for crepe...which promptly arrived...half off the plate...it look like it was made as an after thought...an "absolutely no time to make it" meal..but importantly it was yummy.
so please take what you will from review. we think its important to have good communication between customers and kitchen...so perhaps give your waiters a bit of training?
