however, i have heard only good things about limoncello, and from gourmands that i trust. we’re definitely going to visit and try the wider menu, and will be able to offer a full and fair review then. i saw other fare offered by restaurants i know and love – pietro’s prime, nonna’s, the olive tree – that also failed to draw my interest. at the end of the day, this festival offers the chance to wander around and munch and network on a sunny day in september, but next time i will probably stick to the burgers and similarly less ambitious fare, then grab a table and watch the eagles game.

don't go...especially on a saturday night!. we had heard through many sources that this place served great food and was a lot of fun. previously i tried their catering at a local fundraiser and found it to be average and bland but gave them the benefit of the doubt. we finally decided to try the restaurant with another couple from out-of-town. we made reservations for a 7 o'clock seating, last saturday night. big, no quantum, mistake!

firstly, in honor of the almighty buck, they have jammed way too many tables into the medium sized eating area. the tables were packed. the bar was also filled to the gills. we had the misfortune of being seated right in front of the server's area of the bar. during the course of our 3 hours there, my chair was bumped into from behind no less than 35 times, probably more like 50 times.

we were seated around 7:15. we sat at the table for 20 minutes before they served us water and rolls. 10 to 15 minutes later the waiter came by for drink orders. 15 minutes later we got our drinks. 45 minutes into the ordeal, i took the first sip of my martini. because of the overcrowding the four of us at our table could barely communicate. the noise was deafening. we ordered dinner and i ordered a glass of house cabernet. what i actually received in my wine glass? who knows, but it tasted like something out of the ernest and julio mega jug and had the finish of jailhouse pruno.

after about an hour and a half the food started coming out. the apps were fine, large portions and everyone seemed to enjoy them. the calamari siciliano was very tasty. i wish i could say the same for the entrees. my veal over pasta was bland and favorless, probably because the veal was so dried out it took on the same texture of the prosciutto with which it was served. my wife had the seafood ravioli. it looked great on her plate but no so good when i saw it again in the parking garage as we were driving home another hour later. the other couple, who we were trying to impress, had new york strips thankfully. even limoncello didn't screw those up.

bottom line: the entrees are equal to or one small notch above the olive garden quality. because of the owner's glutony for cash, the place is overcrowded, unpleasant, and ridculously loud. the chefs and wait staff are overwhelmed and at times downright incompetent.

i will never return but more importantly, as i have shared this awful experience with other former patrons, they too have told me that they will not go back due to their own, recent, unpleasant experiences. i wish i would have gotten an update before making my first and last trip there because i'm afraid the worm has turned for limoncello. your money is better spent at any of the other fine restaurants in west chester.

gluten free/celiac knowledgeable restaurant. i went to limoncello tonight with my husband and we had a very conscientious waiter who took it very seriously when i told him i had celiac disease and am gluten free. he made different advisement's throughout the meal to keep me safe. he was very knowledgeable and i would confidently return there again! thanks for the great night and the peace of mind! when you have a food allergy eating somewhere with confidence is invaluable.

best freshest seafood! took 90 year old mother for birthday celebration. great experience, every entrée & sides outstanding, great service, heavenly calamari, seafood bouillabaisse (choice of sauce), steak and pasta. high prices, loud popular local site, dark interior. worth it.

raw meat in the lasagna.... the ambiance was delightful and the drinks were fantastic... the service, on the other hand, terrible.

we (4 adults) were there for a total of two hours... with our waitress blatantly ignoring our efforts to get her attention, while instead flirting with an adjacent table of two young men. when the food finally arrived, the meat in the lasagna was raw, and quite clearly not pink from the red sauce in which it was served. i posted a picture... you can see the browner, cooked meat and then the pink meat on the side of the plate.

they took the two plates of lasagna off our bill, as well as the three appetizers we ordered... in the end, probably just a poor experience, but we went out for a good time, not for free food.

just had a quick meal this sunday night. above average all around; service, presentation, and taste. only downside- it was crowded. what do you expect with good food like that?

superb!. after i couldn't get anyone to pay attention to me at teca or nonna's i went to limoncello, sat at the bar and prayed they would feed me...and they did.
maureen at the bar, despite being 8 month's pregnant, was gracious, radiant, witty and seemed to have limitless energy and enthusiasm.
i started with the salad of mixed baby greens which came with a complimentary couple of slices of bruschetta. the salad was very tasty, but the bruschetta was out of this world. it just had a wonderful flavor of tomatoes and spices.
for the main dish i chose the pescatore with the white wine/garlic sauce. i'm not sure i've ever seen such a bountiful bowl of seafood and linguini! there were ample muscles, clams, calimari, scallops and even a nice little lobster tail. every bite was wonderful and the sauce was a perfect accent, nicely seasoned, but letting the seafood flavor come through.
i had a wonderful experience: 4.5/5 stars.

good food but expensive. the food was awesome. we ordered gnocchi bolognese and penne alla vodka. they were good. the restaurant was crowded on a saturday night, so the service was a little slow. it took 20 minutes to get the initial bread....otherwise good ambience/good crowd... i prefer sitting outside on a summer night.... inside sometimes it can be too loud.... and yes, its expensive..average $18/entree

very disappointing. we are experienced travelers and have been to italy a number of times. the dinner we had at limoncello was very disappointing. my wife did not feel well -- and we will not return.

the only positive was the service. our waiter was very cordial.
