i came here with my husband to try something new, and was pleasantly surprised. i don't know much about filipino food or what it's supposed to taste like but i do know the food was delicious and everything looked & tasted freshly prepared. the staff was extremely helpful & had great suggestions. ps you must try halo halo (a mix between a slushy, milkshake & fruitcup but like 10x better!)

as one of the few filipino restaurants in san antonio, this family owned restaurant prides itself in serving authentic filipino food at a good price.  since i've been eating here for over 10 years i can say they do just that.  the food is very good.  if you haven't had filipino food i'd start out with the sampler mix plate which includes chicken and pork adobo with pancit, lumpia and rice.  another favorite of mine is mechado, a cube beef steak stew.  and don't forget an order of lumpia for an appetizer.  service is sometimes slow but always with a smile.  give it a try.

great!!!. my filipino girlfriend and i went there as recommended. i have been to several "authentic" filipino restaurants and this was an excellent choice. the sampler platter, the lechon, the kare kare was the best ever tasted. i thought we were in manila!!! the service was superb and owner very informative on the dishes and offered all information. they have been there 7 years and i know why. the food is great!!! as an executive chef for over 40 years, i highly recommend this restaurant for authentic filipino foods!!!

first visit--but far from my last!. i didn't know anything about filipino food, so i didn't know what to expect from lily's when four of us from work went there for lunch. i must say i was very happy with what i found.

the decor was very inviting, and i instantly felt relaxed. i ordered the kare-kare, which has received a number of positive reviews here. my companions ordered sinigang bangus, pork adobo with pancit, and the sampler mix.

things got very quiet soon after the food arrived--a sure sign that everyone was enjoying the meal.

the kare-kare is completely deserving of its reputation. the peanut gravy was flavorful without being overpowering, and the vegetables (green beans, eggplant and bok choy) were the perfect combination of tender and crisp. a very balanced and delightful dish.

everyone else at the table reported that their food was also delicious.

the only negative comment i can make is that the service is slow. it took a very long time to get our food, even though the restaurant wasn't that crowded. i also got so tired of waiting for a drink refill that i had to go get my own.

this, however, would not keep me from going back to lily's and recommending it enthusiastically to all my friends.

as a bonus, they have several filipino and asian grocery items for sale at the counter.

give it a try!

my second visit. this was my second visit to lily's and it was even better than the first. the sour soup with the pork and vegetables was even better than the first time. the marinaded fish with the side sauce was simply exquisite. the bread with coconut, was too good to pass up. this place should be a chain all over the country. the food is absolutely superb! boggie

an exceptional experience. i was brought to lil's philippine baker and restaurant earlier today. this was my first exposure to this type of cuisine. the best term i can find for this estabvlishment is exceptional! everything i sampled was beyond any expectations. the sour soup was by far the best soup i have ever had which has a spicey flavor. the spices were outstanding, without overbearing. i could not tell the reader everything i had to eat, but, the novelty wore off quickly only to be replaaced with incredible satisfaction. i may only be in the san antonio area for a very short period of time, but, i wsill do my best to come back to this sensational restaurant one more time.

sampler plate ( pancit & adobo). if you can't make up your mind, this will be the safest dish to order especially if it is your first time to eat filipino food. the sampler plate consists of pancit bihon w/ chicken, abodo chicken w/ or w/o pork plus a scoop of jasmine rice and 1 vegetable egg roll ( lumpia ) cost: $ reasonably priced. i have going to this place since the mid '90's it's so close to the house it's like my back up kitchen. masarap for taste good !

best filipino in san antonio. lily's is my favorite filipino restaurant in san antonio. the food is tasty, cooked to order, and the price is right. many of the filipino baked goods served around san antonio are baked in the lily's kitchen. it's a bit of a drive, however, it is worth every mile.
