i almost would like to keep this place a secret. but i'll cut you a break. just go!
and don't even think about skipping the "honey fried chicken". that plus the classy music and more make lunch at letty's a winner.

this edition of excited about eating takes us to letty’s, a southern-style restaurant in the heart of the midwood region of charlotte. this neighborhood eatery offers comfort food in a homey environment where everyone is welcomed. dora here. true. letty made her way around the dining room, chatting with patrons, several times during our visit. what letty’s lacked in ambiance, they more than made up for in cleanliness, friendliness, and good service. probably a local favorite. when i mentioned that it was a bit dark, hubby chimed in with romantic. that’s my guy. :)

good neighborhood restaurant. nothing fancy, just good food with excellent service in a nice atmosphere.

went for saturday brunch today with my wife and it was excellent. located in an older but well maintained neighborhood, the clientel is mostly older locals although some younger families have found it.

we walked in and were promptly seated. our hostess took our drink orders and gave us our menu and before we had to chance to review the menu, our glasses of tea were there. no they were not rushing us but rather service was that fast.

our server promptly took our orders when we were ready. my wife had the rotisserie chicken sandwich and replace the side salad with on order of fruit. i had one of my favorites which was fish and chips. i asked if they had malt vinegar for the fish and they did. you would be surprised with the number of restaurants that serve fish and chips and tartar sauce is the only option.

our meals were promptly served and everything was excellent. fish was nice and flaky but still moist. fries were good although they were a bit skmpy on the size of the servings. my wife enjoyed here chicken sandwich and the side of fruit was very good with something other than just melons.

atmosphere is nice. as i pointed out, it's in an older neighborhood but eveything is well appointed and you feel right at home.

our hostess and server were both vey good and we wanted for nothing. we will definately be back.

wonderful staff wonderful food. being walking distance from this new restaurant, i was hoping for to love it and i was not let down! this location sits were the old foskoskies once was, with new decor and a very impressive new menu, i will be frequenting this establishment weekly! the prices are extremely fair and you can really tell that the food is made with real love put into it. i felt very at home for my sunday brunch! i had the special of the day, a london broil sandwich on sourdough, with crispy onions and horse sauce, i was in heaven with each bite! my husband, a burger connoisseur, had a burger that i will quote him saying, "is the best burger that he has had in charlotte". i can not wait to come back to try things on their menu like the "neat loaf" (a homemade veggie "meatloaf") and their hummachos (hummus w/meat and veggies)! thank you letty's for opening something so close to my home that i am head over heels for!

when you go to letty's get the pimiento cheese fritters and hummachos for the table! hummus, goat cheesey, pita chips in a nacho-like presentation and tasty deep fried balls of pimiento cheese will make everyone happy. i also had the fish and chips for dinner, which was crispy, light and fresh with homemade tartar sauce. i was pleased to see so many veterans of the charlotte restaurant scene working here. great food, fun atmosphere, laid back folks and very reasonable prices.

good food. i've been to letty's twice. last week i ordered a bowl of chili to go. it was a lot of chili. took 2 days to eat it. went with a friend thurs. night. he had the salmon. it was great. i had a cup of chicken corn chowder. it was full of chicken and flaovor. great for a cold night. also, i ordered the grilled pimento cheeze hamberger. it was awsome. it was nice they had "sugar in the raw" for the coffee. look forward to going back.

i've eaten there twice. first time at lunch when i got a huge carolina dog with mustard, homemade chili, coleslaw and a side of tater wedges. all for $6

took the family there for sunday brunch a few days later and had the smothered chicken and grits. awesome! my daughter had the shrimp and grits and i will be getting that next time.

reasonable prices and great food.
