excellent service. wonderful location on the river. limited, but exquisite menu. highly recommend.

save room for chocolate mousse! quiche lorraine was delicious! side salad was good, too. the coffee was piping hot and fresh and the service was great, too.

this restaurant is a tradition for our family. every time we go to wilmington, we always make a special trip here. great food, great view and service. highly recommend.

i've had le catalan on the wish list for some time now and i figured it was time to see what everyone was raving about so we went on a pleasant thursday evening. it was a bit hot out, and the sun was still fairly intense on the deck, so we sat inside. an hour later and eating on the deck would have given a delightful view of the sunset, but i like the view over the battleship better at sunset so we ate earlier. creamy tomato basil soup we started with soup. i had the creamy tomato basil and it was very good. teresa had the gazpacho and  it was also quite good. the problem was what to order for dinner. the menu is simple and not too extensive, but there are some very nice choices. i opted for the shrimp and orzo gratin and was very satisfied with it. teresa ordered the quiche lorraine and we both agreed that it was well executed. tasty and fluffy, not dense. both dishes came with a small house salad and were filling.  they have an extensive selection of wine available, and even sell bot

food is amazing! i will be dreaming of the tomato basil soup, best i ever had!

good and quick. we went for a quick snack before seeing a show at the thalian. we were in and out in 20 minutes and had a baguette with a good tempenade, pesto, and a hummus. great view of the river too. reasonable prices too.

as good as advertised.. after reading that le catalan had a 100% approval rating by all responding diners my wife and i said that we had to try it. we were pleased with the food and the service. both of us had quiche (one vegetarian, one with ham)and both of us were pleased. the food was well prepared and delicious. the service was helpful and friendly. it was a very good experience. we plan to return.

sunday brunch is great. sorry but i can only speak about the sunday brunch but if the rest of the week is as good as the brunch, this place is definately a keeper.

this is about as close to being in paris as you're going to get in this area. while paris has the seine, le catalan has the cape fear river.

i had a spinach omelette and it was great. the coffee that i had with it was obviously fresh roasted and ground and make with a french press. strong, aromatic and flavorful.

the service is outstanding. as good as you get in any 4 star restaurant. impressive for such a little place. atmosphere is great and the view at sunset is fantastic.

next time i'm in wilmington, i'm definately going to go here someother time than just sunday brunch. looked at the other menus for other times and there is a lot i want to try.

absolutely loved our afternoon on their 'sidewalk' cafe - so reminded me of the backstreets of paris, only better - i didn't have to get on a plane!

great experience. what other reviewers have said is true: food and service are outstanding. i had the mushroom feuillete; my husband had the crab au gratin. both were specials. both were rich and wonderful. we will definitely go back when we are in this area again.

ooh la la. ate here twice on a recent trip to wilmington. great location on the riverwalk and very tasty food. they have daily specials as well as a regular menu with very good quiches and gratins. they have a wonderful wine selection that can be ordered by the glass or bottle. i highly recommend ending your meal with the chocolate mousse, oh my! we also enjoyed the very fresh mango sorbet. don't forget to grab a table outside and enjoy your meal or wine and watch the sunset over the cape fear river. we will be back!

outstanding!. perfect location along the wilmington riverwalk. this place is an authentic european cafe and wine bar. great wines by the glass (they are kept on a nitrous system). menu changes daily...we had a fabulous cheese and pate plate with fresh baked baguettes. we stayed on the patio, but the inside looked great as well. owner/staff were great and a big plus for us is that they are dog friendly on the patio. can't wait to go back!
