decent food with a very large menu. there's asian inspired like lettuce wraps & pad thai. lots of salads. pot roast is very filling but so hearty and good. sandwiches are huge too so we get the half sandwich & soup. kids burgers are a bargain!

the popular dog-friendly concept we've come to love in addison continues their texas expansion, bringing upwards of 200 new jobs to the area.socal based lazy dog restaurant & bar has announced the opening of their second texas location (their 21st location overall) in plano, located at village 121, 8401 preston road.  lazy dog will open november 23.executive chef gabe caliendo has elevated a number of all-american dishes with seasonal ingredients and new flavors. starters and small plates offer a plethora of options for diners to share. the delicious wok-fired calamari are perfectly tender and coated in a sweet soy plum sauce. i've been known to eat these for my meal. other favorites like the spinach and sun dried tomato cheese dip, ahi poke jar, hatch chile & bacon mac and cheese, and the caramelized brussel sprouts offer a little something for every palate. sandwiches, salads, healthy plates, pizzas, pastas, and other entrees are all on the menu. it sounds like a lot, i know, but be sure that each dish is made fresh and with top notch ingredients.to wash down those scratch-kitchen meals, diners can choose from an array of handcrafted cocktails like their juniper lemonade, a hand-shaken pineapple mojito, or a mango chile margarita. beer lovers will rejoice over their craft beer selection, including local favorites like revolver and deep ellum brewing.the new space is designed to feel like a rocky mountain wyoming escape, a whopping 9,356 square-feet, featuring lodge-inspired furnishings, with multiple tvs, welcoming fireplaces and a chandelier crafted from aspen logs. the 1,300 square-foot dog-friendly patio also features its own "dog menu" serving grilled meats and brown rice.the family run company is headed up by chris simms, founder and ceo of lazy dog restaurant & bar. the concept was inspired by chris' childhood, spent enjoying the lifestyle of the rocky mountains. the first lazy dog opened in huntington beach in 2003 and boasted a wide, eclectic menu of fondly remembered family favorites, reinterpreted with bold new flavors, and presented with small-town reminiscent hospitality.“as we continue expansion of lazy dog in texas, we are thrilled to be joining the plano community,” said chris simms, founder and ceo of lazy dog restaurant & bar. “plano is a vibrant city with neighborhoods filled with families and growing business centers. with our strong commitment to providing innovative scratch cooking and genuine hospitality, we believe the lazy dog concept will fit perfectly with the residents and daytime workers of these neighborhoods.”lazy dog will be open daily for lunch and dinner, as well as for brunch on saturdays and sundays. a special lunch menu will be available daily until 4:00 p.m.; and happiest hours will be available monday – friday from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.and sunday – thursday from 9:00 p.m. to close.
