authentic italian food. laico's is a jersey city institution that has been serving up delicious, stick-to-your-ribs italian food since 1972. although the city has changed a great deal since then, laico's has not - and that's a good thing.
it's a small, family restaurant on a hard to find street (if you're not a jc native), but if you're not deterred by these minor obstacles, you'll be treated to large portions of classic italian dishes (e.g., lasagna, veal parmigiana) at very reasonable prices. the service is also friendly and fast.
i grew up in jersey city, and whenever i return, this is one of my touchstones. but it's not nostalgia that keeps me coming back - it's the food.
