i ate so much!!! this was such a nice restaurant. the food was very fresh and flavorful and the atmosphere was comfortable. we were really hungry when we got there and we ordered accordingly! we had the vegetable miso and the seafood miso. both soups were good, not outstanding and i would probably have regular miso next time, but there were good. we had the tuna tataki and the sashimi sampler appetizers. the sashimi was so fresh and delicious it may have been the best i've ever had. the seaweed salad on top of the tuna tataki was my favorite part of that appetizer and i would have been just as happy with just an order of seaweed salad alone, maybe even happier. our main meal consisted of the joe roll, the paradise roll, a shataki mushroom roll and an eel roll. the paradise roll was our favorite of those and was filled with a fresh assortment of fish and loaded with three different kinds of fish roe on top with gave it a yummy little crunch. the spicy sauce that comes along side the joe roll is delicious if you don't mind a mayo base. the mushroom roll had a great mushroom taste and texture that i really enjoyed. the eel roll didn't compare well to other eel rolls i've had and i wouldn't order that again. we finished by splitting a mango mochi ice cream, which i would pass on next time as well. this has been my favorite sushi joint in the toledo area so far. i'm looking forward to crossing a couple more off my list before i can declare my favorite, but given price, atmosphere, taste and quality (not necessarily in that order)...this is my favorite so far.

this sushi restaurant came recommended in the toledo area and it was really good. i have a stange rule about eating raw fish...i must be 25 miles from the ocean to do it...so i ordered cooked rolls and they were good! the had a nice selection on the menu and creative touches. i had the hawaiian volcano roll which came flaming....that was a first for me but i liked it! the ginger dressing was creamy and had nice flavor although it could have been a tad more pungent with ginger flavor. they did not have mushroom soup so i had miso and it was good. i was with a friend who can't have dairy and the waitress was helpful with finding out the food restrictions. however, all the breading and mayo based sauces use milk....so it did limit what she could order.

one of the top sushi places in toledo but a bit pricey. they do have lunch specials tho if u go before 2 p.m. here's a tip: ask for some sesame dressing on the side with your sushi and dip it as u would do with soy sauce.... amazing! ull thank me whoever u r!!

sixty dollars later: i am not full, the sushi was overly smushy and chewy. i got the wrong order. waiter socialized instead of doing his job and didn't offer a solution.

to sum it up: bad food. bad service. overpriced. never returning.

good sushi. i love sushi. i travel a lot for business and eat sushi almost everywhere i go because my wife doesn't like it so i eat it when i am traveling and go to places she likes when i am with here.

i went on a tuesday night, there were 4 parties at tables and the sushi bar was empty. i was buy myself and sat down in front of the two sushi specialist behind the bar. i like sitting at the sushi bar and watching them make my stuff.

i ordered a tuna roll and a mixture of tuna, snapper and sea bass sushi pieces. all of it was good.

i was actually a little taken aback by the amount of fish used on each piece of sushi. it draped onto the plate on both ends of the rice ball and was cut a little thicker than i have ever had at a sushi restaurant. between the length and thickness of the slice of fish i would guess each one was 2x the amount of fish on most pieces of sushi i have eaten.

getting a lot would not matter if it wasn't good...and it was.

i can't speak to any of the japanese or chinese entrees as all i had was sushi, but i can say that i was satisfied and would not hesitate to go back for sushi.

worst way to spend money.. won't be coming back again. went there for dinner and ordered sushi and the salmon smell and tasted funny. (by this i mean it wasn't fresh!!) to the point where i ended up not eating any of it.

the "hot lover" is too legit to quit. i have eaten sushi all over the country, and even some in other countries.

on taste and quality - i would rank this in the top 1% of all of them.

no close 2nd in toledo.

no one in toledo is even close. we eat sushi all over...my gf travels every week, and eats sushi 2 times a week! once on the road, and friday nights at kyoto ka! everything on the menu is pictured and explained very well. i was a california roll guy until i started here. now? eel, octopus, the list goes on. sit at the sushi bar, introduce yourself to joe.. favorite dish???? we watch him prepare an arrangement, and just order...what they had lol....everything is spot on fresh, tasty, and wonderfully presented. if you like sushi? you can't be disappointed

hands down my favorite sushi restaurant i've eaten at so far. i love sitting at the sushi bar and chatting with the chefs, who are all very nice. they have fantastic sushi and their green tea is of high quality loose leaf. it is my favorite splurge restaurant.

terrible. visiting from out of town, we were very excited to get some sushi and sake, as it's hard to find in northern michigan. after reviewing yelp, i went with kyoto ka based on the reviews and their online menu. needless to say, we were completely disappointed. our waitress stayed as far away as possible and made it very clear that she was not interested at working that evening. after ordering one roll, it took 20 minutes and finally flagging down the owner who was nearby to get our waitress back to our table for another roll order. when it finally showed up, another good 20 minutes later (ok, it was a busy weekend night so i won't dwell in that one), she also brought our bill. never came back to see how our meal was, to ask if we would like to order more, or see if i would like another cocktail. no surprise, this chick received no tip. aside from the service, my peach sake was amazing and the house salad was fresh. i've had much better sushi, even in michigan. my 2nd roll, which had eel on top, was full of bones, making it completely inedible. we will never be back.

rainbow roll-okay double dragon roll-okay. not a fan of the creamy wasabi and just not as fresh a fish selection than other sushi places in toledo that are a lot cheaper.

great sushi. went there with some sushi-lovers, who claimed it may have been the best sushi they've ever had! had spent the whole day doing yard work but didn't feel out of place in our shorts and sneakers, even the the ambience feels upscale. try the tempura coated rolls-yum
