as far as franchises go, krispy kreme delivers pretty much the sametasteworld round. i've had krispy kreme donuts and drinks in around 4 countries and it's good stuff. not sure why the ones here seem expensive, but they're still good.

this branch is in express avenue mall and is pretty spacious for a donut joint. there's a nice area to sit at where there's lots of natural light flooding in, probably my favorite place to sit at when i'm here.

i usually go for their drink and donut combo which is pretty well worth it. gold place for a quick and fun bite (and sip).

this is my first visit to krispy kreme. i wanted totastecouple of doughnuts but the counter staff were kind enough to offer an offer - buy 1 more & get 1 free. it was a too good to resist offer.

i ordered four of them & i must say all the four were really amazing - be it withtasteor the presentation. these included:

1) double chocolate cake
2) vanilla choco chip
3) mango masti &
4) almond all over.

they also have few other delicacies which i’m sure would satisfy your craving for a perfect doughnut.

i have had doughnuts in few places & i was always of the opinion that the centre (crust) of the doughnut would be juicy but krispy kreme offered a different perspective altogether since it was properly baked & i did not find anything juicy in the centre.

the place has spacious seating which means even if you come as a group, they have enough place to accommodate you.

they offer takeaways as well. there are some offer running at the moment. they also have cold & hot drinks.

p.s. they accept paytm too :)

a good place to hang out with friends. the service is fast and the ambiance is great. the toughest choice is finding which one you like. if it's ur first time i would suggest buying the whole pack to find which one suits urtasteand also it's cheaper that way.

we went and brought original glazed and other assorted varieties. the doughnuts were very bad quality. they did not eventastelike doughnuts. it felt like it was still doughy and uncooked. does not stand for the brand name.

🎵my lips like sugar, my lips like sugar, all i tasted was sweet, all i tasted was sweeet🎵 dum dubble didum dum didouble didum🎵🎶. chennai branch of krispy kreme - you are disgracing the name itself! went to try the donuts, after all the hype ( which actually went down ages ago ) whatever 😒. so the first bite, pang! felt like sugar shot gun 🔫! no flavour, texture, whatever a donut should be, but just...utterly...s-u-g-a-r. i seriously cannot understand how chennai people love this, perhaps because they've never been overseas, thats why 😏 or theirtastebuds are so coated with spice, that this much sugar is tolerable. as soon as i came home, man i checked for diabetes. and phew 😌 thank god, safe!

please repect the krispy kreme originality of new orleans and follow the same recipe, not selling it cheap with sugar. seriously have i never eaten this much sugar in my entire being of life!

the best doughnuts in the world!!😁😁
prologue: ate krispy kreme doughnuts in usa back in 2000! after coming back to india ,waited for many years for them to open an outlet here. my wishes were granted after krispy kreme finally opened in bangalore and eventually came to chennai!

location: the outlet is situated on ground floor in express avenue. easy to spot it as it has prominent glass windows.

experience:i have bought doughnuts here more than a dozen times!! been to their outlets in forum and phoenix malls but this is the best outlet! you actually get to see the doughnuts been made behind the glass door!
plenty of tables available for seating unlike the other outlets.

doughnuts: original glazed doughnuts are a paradise for thetastebuds🤗😋. the doughnut literally melts in your mouth!! you can easily gobble up half a dozen of them!
i always get a box of 12( u pay only for 9). some weekdays u even get offers like buy 12 and pay for 7!
every month they have special collections like chocolate indulgence, caramel etc which r great!

my personal favorites are
1.original glazed
2.double chocolate
3.chocolate dream cake
4.vanilla
5.chocolate with sprinkles
6.caramel

be sure to microwave them for 15-20 seconds before consuming. theytastebest when warm!👌

tried a chocolate shake. it was good

service: decent and quick.

price: vfm!! be sure to hit the outlet on weekdays as u end up paying less for box doughnuts!

must visit for all doughnut lovers!!🤗👌

talk about doughnuts then krispy kreme comes up first in my mind. who can make better doughnuts!
i have been to the one in bangalore couple of times and this is the first time i am trying in chennai.

they have the typical white and green krispy kreme décor. this place has been a little disappointing in seating arrangements. but while trying the doughnuts you will forget everything. they have 12 to 15 different variants of doughnuts and to be honest most of themtastegood. i don't remember what i ordered as i am writing this review after couple of weeks.

service is good. the items in the menu are decently priced. the espresso chocolate shake is a must try.

final verdict: an average place but a heaven for people who have a heart made up of doughnuts.

i've been having their doughnuts since i can remember and always bring back a dozen when i come to chennai for vacations. knowing that they opened shop was very much to my delight. went to ea just to get doughnuts but it was not the best experience. let's do this part by part, ambience is relaxed and the place itself is very clean and roomy. pricing wise i'm not going to complain as each one has a different take on it. doughnut taste, very good and just shy of thetasteavailable abroad. service is where they lack. they seemed grumpy and unwilling to mix and match my requirements (they fussed as i changed my mind twice about my own choices). the coffee seemed a bit off the day i had it. otherwise, great stop for possibly the best doughnuts in chennai!

in a characteristic mylapore brahmin accent, one of my school teachers always used to say, 'mathavaal la kashta paduthi than sandosham varum na, andha madhiri sandosham ey namakku vendam tanveer' true that, mam.

extrapolating her philosophy, i'd say 'oru global fast food chain ah review panni than unakku review points varanum na, andha madhiri points ey vendam tanveer'

lol.

hence, it is by principle that i decided not to review ubiquitous global food chains,
'subway nungambakkam is the best' then 2 days later ' subway t nagar is the shizz macha'. etc. also domino's. they're there by the dozens. someone write a review for pizza hut no. paavam, fellows have become invisible.

'periya principle nu sonna? apparam enna **thukku you're writing this' nu you folks can ask. touché.

thing is, the exception to my principle, is, if a food chain is absolutely exceptional(this one) , is getting unreasonable hype(starbucks alwarpet) or a glaring health hazard (thankfully yet to find one such establishment), i'd consider writing a review for it. hence, we are here.

krispy kreme opened up a long time ago. namma than late. no latest coming also. lol. *self facepalm*

i visited the place recently and absolutely loved it. being away from the food court, helps keep the place sane. it isn't buzzing with people, and it works wonders in its favor. it's hard to find such places, especially in a mall as busy as ea. also, the view. it isn't all sea view baywatch types, nor are you blessed with a neon enhanced view of the skyline of our city. all you can see are a bunch of exquisite german beauties, with a few indian go-getters thrown in for good measure. for the automotively challenged, i'm speaking about the view of the car parking. :d also, it's a nice feeling to casually stroll your car, park it on the ground floor without having to go to the depths of dante's inferno to park/retrieve. and the garden and the entrance to the mall. lovely. didn't mind spending extra for mall parking this time!

the place has a very welcoming ambience. huge windows, good natural lighting, the garden and the cars, chairs, of 2 kinds. one section is the laid back cushion sofas which you'd find in most ccds, and another section with a more serious, table and chair set up. they all work well though!

the food, is also exceptional. they're a dessert only place, with a few beverages served. hence you won't find anything savoury on the menu. i guess that's another reason why the place is relatively less crowded, cause there's only so much time you can spend for dessert. i did the same too. there's a mango fest going on and so we had ordered for 6 doughnuts. each one of us, wanted an original glazed doughnut and a doughnut with a filling. the mango cheese cake doughnut was my choice and i liked it. though i don't know if i'd ever eat a cheesecake in a donut form again, it tasted pretty good. another friend had a vanilla mango filled doughnut and she liked it too. the last doughnut was this chocolate filled dish, which was smashing. all 3 doughnuts had copious amounts of filling, especially the chocolate one, which was oozing liquid chocolate and managed to create an enjoyable mess of things. we were all kids again. but i personally preferred the original glazed doughnuts. simple, yet they were better than the more decadent ones imho. could have eaten a box of just those.

the service is also pretty good. 'welcome to krispy kreme sir' exclaims this gentleman from the counter as you enter the place. 'namma la than da koopudran'! all warm and fuzzy you get. don't remember the last time i got a
' welcome to domino's sir'. i guess it's cause i'm only there for the buy one get one offer. and they're like 'oc le ye thinra paaru' lol.

there was a lady who had understood the awesomeness of this place and had sat with a couple of doughnuts, a drink and a book, by the corner. kudos to her. resisted the urge to replicate her behaviour as i had to leave.

the krispy kreme outlet at forum mall, is in the middle of the entire mall, and i really didn't take to it. so i never tried it. but i'm sure they alltastethe same. one grain of rice is evidence for the whole pot. does that ring a bell? if it did, then you a true local macha. :d

this place though, just nails it on all frontiers!
definitely coming back here. probably every time i visit the mall. lol. not every time i guess. rapidly outgrowing my clothes already. :p

cheers. : )

this is never my first choice for donuts. i think they're overpriced and do nottastegreat.. at all. a friend wanted to have their glazed doughnuts, so i went for it. i find them particularly sweet and the texture of the bread always seems stale. the filling in the donuts isn't much either.

staff is kind and courteous.

always a donut house fan.

krispy kreme is located in the ground floor of express avenue mall with the outlet really stretched out with plenty of room to sit in. they have an array of donut flavors to choose from and i have tasted kookie krunch, mango and cookie crunch, almond all over, chocolate dream cake. if i were the god of junk food, then donuts would be my sudarshana chakra!
it would be my weapon and id fling it at delinquents for all of their despicable activities. oh how cool would i be, using to teach them a lesson and by being a toughass?
oh wait. maybe if i fling it at them, they'll sniff the donut, get tantalized by its aroma , catch it with their mouths and eat my weapon .
or maybe i'll end up eating it myself as it is that irresistible. maybe i shouldn't be the god of junk food after all, maybe just the god of healthy food so that i punish the delinquents by making them smell radish eh? :p
trust me, mytastein desserts are really sweet, because my grandma who makes the best indian sweets in the world loved sugar and her sweets entailed a generous amount of sugar that after a single bite of her sweet and letting yourself swallow it, the sugar would just rush to the brain and i'd get hyperactive instantly!!! and if my grandma were to ever make donuts, i think she'd make them like krispy kreme's because the donuts here are real sweet. my favorite was chocolate dream cake but i liked the rest as well. if the family is shopping together, the father would keep ordering more as its tasty and sugary enough to make him combat the stresses of the huge bills that his family left him behind after shopping!!! and if it's anybody else shopping around, i suggest you buy clothes a size bigger because you sure as hell won't pass this shop without eating a few and carry a dozen back home to chomp on at home!!!
