creamy doughnuts !

krispykremedoughnuts ea

visited on : 31st july 2016

overview : krispykremeis a good place to get together with friends and family and have a good evening doughnut snack and drinks.

the "good"s : -doughnuts of many many varieties are available here.
-good seating arrangement and ambiance.
-the doughnut making machine is up for display and doughnuts are made two times a day in this which is fun to watch.

the "bad"s : -the items here are a touch expensive and not a good place for those on a budget.

my view : good place to have some tasty doughnuts.

i have had krispykremedoughnuts a zillion times, and i love them. this is my most fav doughnut joint in city. i have never bothered to review this place, but recently i had visited the outlet in express avenue mall. usually i just buy doughnuts and take them home, but this visit we ordered and had it at the outlet. i love the sitting area as u have a lovely view outside. i am not gonna comment about the doughnuts because they are as good as always, i loved the oreo shake. the concept of doughnut and ice cream is a little odd, but it's just worth a try. my all time personal favourite here is the sugar glazed doughnuts.

in a characteristic mylapore brahmin accent, one of my school teachers always used to say, 'mathavaal la kashta paduthi than sandosham varum na, andha madhiri sandosham ey namakku vendam tanveer' true that, mam.

extrapolating her philosophy, i'd say 'oru global fast food chain ah review panni than unakku review points varanum na, andha madhiri points ey vendam tanveer'

lol.

hence, it is by principle that i decided not to review ubiquitous global food chains,
'subway nungambakkam is the best' then 2 days later ' subway t nagar is the shizz macha'. etc. also domino's. they're there by the dozens. someone write a review for pizza hut no. paavam, fellows have become invisible.

'periya principle nu sonna? apparam enna **thukku you're writing this' nu you folks can ask. touché.

thing is, the exception to my principle, is, if a food chain is absolutely exceptional(this one) , is getting unreasonable hype(starbucks alwarpet) or a glaring health hazard (thankfully yet to find one such establishment), i'd consider writing a review for it. hence, we are here.

krispykremeopened up a long time ago. namma than late. no latest coming also. lol. *self facepalm*

i visited the place recently and absolutely loved it. being away from the food court, helps keep the place sane. it isn't buzzing with people, and it works wonders in its favor. it's hard to find such places, especially in a mall as busy as ea. also, the view. it isn't all sea view baywatch types, nor are you blessed with a neon enhanced view of the skyline of our city. all you can see are a bunch of exquisite german beauties, with a few indian go-getters thrown in for good measure. for the automotively challenged, i'm speaking about the view of the car parking. :d also, it's a nice feeling to casually stroll your car, park it on the ground floor without having to go to the depths of dante's inferno to park/retrieve. and the garden and the entrance to the mall. lovely. didn't mind spending extra for mall parking this time!

the place has a very welcoming ambience. huge windows, good natural lighting, the garden and the cars, chairs, of 2 kinds. one section is the laid back cushion sofas which you'd find in most ccds, and another section with a more serious, table and chair set up. they all work well though!

the food, is also exceptional. they're a dessert only place, with a few beverages served. hence you won't find anything savoury on the menu. i guess that's another reason why the place is relatively less crowded, cause there's only so much time you can spend for dessert. i did the same too. there's a mango fest going on and so we had ordered for 6 doughnuts. each one of us, wanted an original glazed doughnut and a doughnut with a filling. the mango cheese cake doughnut was my choice and i liked it. though i don't know if i'd ever eat a cheesecake in a donut form again, it tasted pretty good. another friend had a vanilla mango filled doughnut and she liked it too. the last doughnut was this chocolate filled dish, which was smashing. all 3 doughnuts had copious amounts of filling, especially the chocolate one, which was oozing liquid chocolate and managed to create an enjoyable mess of things. we were all kids again. but i personally preferred the original glazed doughnuts. simple, yet they were better than the more decadent ones imho. could have eaten a box of just those.

the service is also pretty good. 'welcome to krispykremesir' exclaims this gentleman from the counter as you enter the place. 'namma la than da koopudran'! all warm and fuzzy you get. don't remember the last time i got a
' welcome to domino's sir'. i guess it's cause i'm only there for the buy one get one offer. and they're like 'oc le ye thinra paaru' lol.

there was a lady who had understood the awesomeness of this place and had sat with a couple of doughnuts, a drink and a book, by the corner. kudos to her. resisted the urge to replicate her behaviour as i had to leave.

the krispykremeoutlet at forum mall, is in the middle of the entire mall, and i really didn't take to it. so i never tried it. but i'm sure they all taste the same. one grain of rice is evidence for the whole pot. does that ring a bell? if it did, then you a true local macha. :d

this place though, just nails it on all frontiers!
definitely coming back here. probably every time i visit the mall. lol. not every time i guess. rapidly outgrowing my clothes already. :p

cheers. : )

goddamn! such beautifully scrumptious donuts 🍩. i couldn't get enough of the chocolate dream donut, simply smouldering. gotta love the original glazed donuts too. i thought i'd never get to eat from krispykremein india, but here we are, licking away the dripping chocolate filling off of our fingers.

my daughter was absolutely in live with their little cap. she was so adorable in it. too bad she threw it down before we could take a picture.

overall, it seems like a quite place to snuggle up with some coffee and them delish donuts. :)

totally unprofessional behaviour
1st they send a sms to regular customers to enjoy the 3 day break with krispy kreme! buy 3 get 3 free by showing a coupon and when i went to the store they are like the offer is not valid now its only for wednesday and when i ask them to read the msg carefully and check again thn their manager says it starts only tommorow !!!
then hw does it mean a 3 day break as then the weekend will be jus sat and sun not 3 days but 2 days???
if krispykremedoesnt want to give the offer then they shouldnt even be sending messages and misleading their regular customers.

totally unprofessional and spoilt the whole mood of a person

one of the worst places to eat donuts in chennai so far. heard of krispykremefamous in other countries and went in with some hope. the experience was bad as they served pathetic round shaped ones in the name of donuts. they had just one flavor to choose from as they were out of stock. i really wouldn't revisit this place and never earn the hatred of my friends by recommending this place. yikes

krispykremeis located in the ground floor of express avenue mall with the outlet really stretched out with plenty of room to sit in. they have an array of donut flavors to choose from and i have tasted kookie krunch, mango and cookie crunch, almond all over, chocolate dream cake. if i were the god of junk food, then donuts would be my sudarshana chakra!
it would be my weapon and id fling it at delinquents for all of their despicable activities. oh how cool would i be, using to teach them a lesson and by being a toughass?
oh wait. maybe if i fling it at them, they'll sniff the donut, get tantalized by its aroma , catch it with their mouths and eat my weapon .
or maybe i'll end up eating it myself as it is that irresistible. maybe i shouldn't be the god of junk food after all, maybe just the god of healthy food so that i punish the delinquents by making them smell radish eh? :p
trust me, my taste in desserts are really sweet, because my grandma who makes the best indian sweets in the world loved sugar and her sweets entailed a generous amount of sugar that after a single bite of her sweet and letting yourself swallow it, the sugar would just rush to the brain and i'd get hyperactive instantly!!! and if my grandma were to ever make donuts, i think she'd make them like krispy kreme's because the donuts here are real sweet. my favorite was chocolate dream cake but i liked the rest as well. if the family is shopping together, the father would keep ordering more as its tasty and sugary enough to make him combat the stresses of the huge bills that his family left him behind after shopping!!! and if it's anybody else shopping around, i suggest you buy clothes a size bigger because you sure as hell won't pass this shop without eating a few and carry a dozen back home to chomp on at home!!!

i had gone to krispykremeto meet a gang of my girlfriends. well its a donut place so basically they concentrate on that which i love. krispykremehas a good variety to choose from. chocolate donut is obviously nice, but my heart loves and almost everyone feels the same, their original donut is the highlight. the simple glazed donut is my favourite there. it's a must have. as donuts and coffee go hand in hand, they have a variety of coffee and shakes. the cafe mocha i had was yummy. i also tasted my friend's velvety vanilla and it was super yummy too. a must go. ambience can be worked upon. but no others issues with place.

after a long walk around express avenue, one begins to feel hungry. i'm a massive lover of doughnuts. maybe not homer simpson level, but i love them. krispykremeproves to be the perfect stop.

i went with the chocolate dream cake and, as all my close friends will expect, a chocolate milkshake, and no, not just because it's rhymes (although that was fun).

very high quality and very filling, both coming together at a fair price of rs.250, its worth spending money here.

@ krispykremedoughnuts chennai wished they opened a few of these joints in pune. i really enjoyed their donuts probably the best i have had in india. they are fresh and pretty much melt when you eat them. this will be a must visit joint for me now every time i visit chennai. they also have ample seating space and also a very good ambiance. they have a wide variety of donuts to choose and pretty much customised to the indian palette.

atmosphere/ décor
upon entering, you'll notice that this location has a narrow interior with high top tables all around and a glass window to view the donut process. watch these circular beauties slowly get fried and glazed right before your eyes! a small step exists, too, for dem shorties.

donuts
forget sprinkles, fillings, and all that. it's all about the original glazed, and when it comes hot off the conveyer belt, it's quite melt-in-your-mouth sinful, and it's like fulfilling all your sugar needs for the entire year, ever. i believe a standard, fresh glazed donuts . *heaven*

service
super efficient.

prices
one donut cost 65₹- 70₹

overall
i would personally return, and their fresh donuts were decent. however, it's not great enough to make krispykremea regular stop.

been here countless number of times.... always to eat just 1 donut but end up getting a box of 12 !! thank god atleast krispykremeis maintaining their international standards.. the donuts are moist, soft and real good (save for a few occasions in mid week or no crowd timing when i found the donuts no better than dunkin).

glazed donut is my all time favorite. try the donuts when freshly made... they just melt in your mouth.
