talk aboutdoughnutsthen krispy kreme comes up first in my mind. who can make better doughnuts!
i have been to the one in bangalore couple of times and this is the first time i am trying in chennai.

they have the typical white and green krispy kreme décor. this place has been a little disappointing in seating arrangements. but while trying thedoughnutsyou will forget everything. they have 12 to 15 different variants ofdoughnutsand to be honest most of them taste good. i don't remember what i ordered as i am writing this review after couple of weeks.

service is good. the items in the menu are decently priced. the espresso chocolate shake is a must try.

final verdict: an average place but a heaven for people who have a heart made up of doughnuts.

i am crazy 😜 fordoughnuts🍩 which makes me go nuts. it is the over doze for ur tummy. me ordered for chocolate glaze n strawberry 🍓 sause filled doughnut. choco galze was too gud with taste like nutella n another one was too juicy , softer spongy inside the top layer was glazed with sugar. this satisfies my sweet tooth 😋😋😋

biggest of all krispy kreme's in chennai!
a huge board in the centre of the mall at the ground floor showing directions to krispy kreme hit my eyes and i thought 'why not a doughnut? it's been long time'

as i entered another big flux hit my eyes, "50% off after 8:30pm". this krispy kreme is the biggest in chennai with ample seating peace and the place was lit up so bright. the lightings and theme went hand in hand. a part of the shop has their machine on how they bakedoughnutsand people could see it live. it's an automated machine where people could seedoughnutsbeing prepared right from flour batter to packaging.

their transparency is highly appreciated and nobody will have a second thought on their kitchen hygiene. it's all transparent.

all my krispy kreme encounters go with a mandatory 'original glazed' doughnut and some other new addition to the menu. i tried out their new mango cheese doughnut. this mango doughnut had mango syrup filling on the top as well as within. syrup concentration was mild and that made doughnut palatable.

as a part of offer, 2doughnutsand the bill was ₹75! so bloody cheap! absolutely vfm.
the only concern was that there was no ac and it was mentioned that ac is under maintenance.

krispy kremedoughnutsea

visited on : 31st july 2016

overview : krispy kreme is a good place to get together with friends and family and have a good evening doughnut snack and drinks.

the "good"s : -doughnuts of many many varieties are available here.
-good seating arrangement and ambiance.
-the doughnut making machine is up for display anddoughnutsare made two times a day in this which is fun to watch.

the "bad"s : -the items here are a touch expensive and not a good place for those on a budget.

my view : good place to have some tasty doughnuts.

i've been having theirdoughnutssince i can remember and always bring back a dozen when i come to chennai for vacations. knowing that they opened shop was very much to my delight. went to ea just to getdoughnutsbut it was not the best experience. let's do this part by part, ambience is relaxed and the place itself is very clean and roomy. pricing wise i'm not going to complain as each one has a different take on it. doughnut taste, very good and just shy of the taste available abroad. service is where they lack. they seemed grumpy and unwilling to mix and match my requirements (they fussed as i changed my mind twice about my own choices). the coffee seemed a bit off the day i had it. otherwise, great stop for possibly the bestdoughnutsin chennai!

i have had krispy kremedoughnutsa zillion times, and i love them. this is my most fav doughnut joint in city. i have never bothered to review this place, but recently i had visited the outlet in express avenue mall. usually i just buydoughnutsand take them home, but this visit we ordered and had it at the outlet. i love the sitting area as u have a lovely view outside. i am not gonna comment about thedoughnutsbecause they are as good as always, i loved the oreo shake. the concept of doughnut and ice cream is a little odd, but it's just worth a try. my all time personal favourite here is the sugar glazed doughnuts.

in a characteristic mylapore brahmin accent, one of my school teachers always used to say, 'mathavaal la kashta paduthi than sandosham varum na, andha madhiri sandosham ey namakku vendam tanveer' true that, mam.

extrapolating her philosophy, i'd say 'oru global fast food chain ah review panni than unakku review points varanum na, andha madhiri points ey vendam tanveer'

lol.

hence, it is by principle that i decided not to review ubiquitous global food chains,
'subway nungambakkam is the best' then 2 days later ' subway t nagar is the shizz macha'. etc. also domino's. they're there by the dozens. someone write a review for pizza hut no. paavam, fellows have become invisible.

'periya principle nu sonna? apparam enna **thukku you're writing this' nu you folks can ask. touché.

thing is, the exception to my principle, is, if a food chain is absolutely exceptional(this one) , is getting unreasonable hype(starbucks alwarpet) or a glaring health hazard (thankfully yet to find one such establishment), i'd consider writing a review for it. hence, we are here.

krispy kreme opened up a long time ago. namma than late. no latest coming also. lol. *self facepalm*

i visited the place recently and absolutely loved it. being away from the food court, helps keep the place sane. it isn't buzzing with people, and it works wonders in its favor. it's hard to find such places, especially in a mall as busy as ea. also, the view. it isn't all sea view baywatch types, nor are you blessed with a neon enhanced view of the skyline of our city. all you can see are a bunch of exquisite german beauties, with a few indian go-getters thrown in for good measure. for the automotively challenged, i'm speaking about the view of the car parking. :d also, it's a nice feeling to casually stroll your car, park it on the ground floor without having to go to the depths of dante's inferno to park/retrieve. and the garden and the entrance to the mall. lovely. didn't mind spending extra for mall parking this time!

the place has a very welcoming ambience. huge windows, good natural lighting, the garden and the cars, chairs, of 2 kinds. one section is the laid back cushion sofas which you'd find in most ccds, and another section with a more serious, table and chair set up. they all work well though!

the food, is also exceptional. they're a dessert only place, with a few beverages served. hence you won't find anything savoury on the menu. i guess that's another reason why the place is relatively less crowded, cause there's only so much time you can spend for dessert. i did the same too. there's a mango fest going on and so we had ordered for 6 doughnuts. each one of us, wanted an original glazed doughnut and a doughnut with a filling. the mango cheese cake doughnut was my choice and i liked it. though i don't know if i'd ever eat a cheesecake in a donut form again, it tasted pretty good. another friend had a vanilla mango filled doughnut and she liked it too. the last doughnut was this chocolate filled dish, which was smashing. all 3doughnutshad copious amounts of filling, especially the chocolate one, which was oozing liquid chocolate and managed to create an enjoyable mess of things. we were all kids again. but i personally preferred the original glazed doughnuts. simple, yet they were better than the more decadent ones imho. could have eaten a box of just those.

the service is also pretty good. 'welcome to krispy kreme sir' exclaims this gentleman from the counter as you enter the place. 'namma la than da koopudran'! all warm and fuzzy you get. don't remember the last time i got a
' welcome to domino's sir'. i guess it's cause i'm only there for the buy one get one offer. and they're like 'oc le ye thinra paaru' lol.

there was a lady who had understood the awesomeness of this place and had sat with a couple of doughnuts, a drink and a book, by the corner. kudos to her. resisted the urge to replicate her behaviour as i had to leave.

the krispy kreme outlet at forum mall, is in the middle of the entire mall, and i really didn't take to it. so i never tried it. but i'm sure they all taste the same. one grain of rice is evidence for the whole pot. does that ring a bell? if it did, then you a true local macha. :d

this place though, just nails it on all frontiers!
definitely coming back here. probably every time i visit the mall. lol. not every time i guess. rapidly outgrowing my clothes already. :p

cheers. : )

what we had : chocolate dream cake, chocolate iced with sprinkles, original glazed. there was a buy two get two offer too.  two shakes,(the names of which i cannot recollect at all!, please excuse.) they were a little watery\diluted, but then i didnt really care cos the dough nuts were just...heavenly.

@ krispy kremedoughnutschennai wished they opened a few of these joints in pune. i really enjoyed their donuts probably the best i have had in india. they are fresh and pretty much melt when you eat them. this will be a must visit joint for me now every time i visit chennai. they also have ample seating space and also a very good ambiance. they have a wide variety of donuts to choose and pretty much customised to the indian palette.
