for quite a while, i've been wishing for a respectable local barbeque place, and in kloby's smokehouse i've found it. it had taken me a little while to get to kloby's, partly because i was confused about its location due to the laurel address (or is it we

i had the two meat plate for lunch. excellent brisket with spicy bbq sauce. tri tip was outstanding just plain. served with smoky bbq baked beans and cole slaw. they also have an outstanding draft list. highly recommended.

bacon jar-b-que. since i have been coming here this is the only dish i order. it is a treat and a bbq delight to eat and the large is a good challenge to finish. good barbeque, good customer service, great atmosphere.

great if you like big chunks of fat.. i got take-out and ended up with a brisket and fat chunk sandwich. very heavy on the fat chunks. so if you like fat with barbeque sauce this is the place for you. i've eaten there before and it was much better. i'm not sure if they are just trying to stick the take out people with their fat scraps or if it has gone down. they also did not give me the sides we ordered on the phone and we did not check them until we got home.

food was ok for me. my biggest problem was the parking situation . there were no spots i was forced to park in a business building across the street.

love their smoked meats!. great bbq/sports bar atmosphere, the service has always been top notch! very impressed with their food.

my boyfriend and i were struggling to decide where to eat and urbanspoon popped this up. we were not disappointed in the least. clean and friendly environment and extremely tasty food. would highly recommend.

let’s talk a second about these jalapeno poppers. two things, specifically: they’re stuffed with pulled pork, and they come with a truly magical dipping sauce.

barbecue done horribly, horribly wrong. i have had some really good barbecue of all kinds and some pretty decent barbecue. i'd never had horrendous barbecue until i went to kloby's. here's the report card.

brisket: dry. overcooked. difficult to chew. flavorless. these are not adjectives normally associated with brisket. i can't believe they served this to me. grade f

potato salad: flavorless. undercooked. bland. grade d

corn bread: seems to be comprised of mostly wheat flour. very little corn flavor. texture and color are closer to white cake than corn bread. also quite bland. grade d

hush puppies: a little on the heavy side. flavor is decent. i enjoyed them. grade b

macaroni and cheese: very little flavor. gummy texture. pretty awful. grade d

ribs: very dry and overcooked (i'm starting to see a theme here). no flavor (probably because it's been cooked out). the meat on these ribs is very tough, and they aren't cut up, so i have to use about as much muscle to pull the ribs apart as it takes to rip a phone book in half. grade f

very good hush puppies. got the 2 meat platter with pulled pork and beef brisket - pulled pork was a tad fattier than i would have liked, but both tasted wonderful. service was friendly but a bit slow.

outstanding food and service. we've eaten here a few times and enjoyed it every time. tonight they outdid themselves - the service was really special. they offered club soda after a bbq sauce spill, and turned on the hockey game for us. the food is great, especially the chili, brisket and ribs, but go for the great people!

fantastic. the beef ribs are fantastic! the collards seem a bit citified, but i can overlook that.

who knew one could find such a great barbecue joint in a strip mall next to the nail salon.

good food. i got the pulled pork sandwich w/ slaw, collard greens, bbq beans and bread pudding. the sadwich was pretty wonderful meat wasn't shredded as loose as i like it but it was good and juicy. the bbq beans had meat in them had a little spice and a strong bbq flavor i liked them a lot. the bread pudding was good. the greens on the other hand could have used some help, i had to doctor them up because they were pretty bland. 3 out of 4 i'm ok with, i'd go again.

the kloby's in laurel is open. the kloby's on johns hopkins road at rte 29 is open. i called this afternoon, and they confirmed that the original in windsor mill has closed. they said they're open and selling bbq.
