so for a surprise my so booked us a dinner at kiko's. it's a bit bougie for my taste personally, as i always get disappointed with upscale-like sushi restaurants because most of the time the ambiance does not match the food. with that said, kiko's food is quite good, albeit pricy.
we had a dinner special which had 5 types of sashimi (hamachi, red tuna, salmon, albacore, escolar/white tuna), 8 nigiris, a mango paradise roll, 2 shucked oysters, salad for two, miso soup for two and a generous portion of ice cream. we were really hungry and the portions were a bit on the small side so in addition we also ordered tempura appetizers, agedashi tofu, and a kiko house roll and the sakura crab roll or something.
our favourite was the oysters and the sakura roll. the sashimi provided was also super fresh. we would not order the tempura and agedashi tofu again, because the quality is on par with cheaper places but it's more expensive here.
we left very full! we'd order less for next time, though.
service was great, waters were being filled constantly. you also get a parking voucher after 5:30 pm for the underground parking garage!
