kate's has got it all!. good food, good beer, genuine & friendly service, plus a great happy hour - need i say more?

nice pub. food and drinks were great. wish i would have made happy hour. burgers are a little pricy at $12 if your looking for a simple cheeseburger but if you like the works $12 is not too bad. i will be returning.

my favorite pub, hands down. come for the happy hour prices, stay for the awesome bartenders and surprisingly delicious food! not only are all of the entrees half off every day from 4-6, they have daily drink specials for the night crowd as well.

did i mention that the food is amazing? while i can't eat it myself, i always recommend the pulled pork mac and cheese to newcomers. not one person has regretted it. (their hearts may later, but i'd say it's worth it!)

for dessert, there's always mud pie, or even a jello shot. then you can sit back digesting as you listen to live music, generally on saturday nights or watch the game on one of the many tvs. what are you waiting for? it's time to head to 45th and latona!

best happy hour? yes, they deserve their rep. kate's pub has the reputation for having the best happy hour in the north half of the city. they actually deserve it.

happy hour prices
aggressive on both food and liquor (beer and well drinks). food is half off the regular menu, and while most of the selections fit the "pub food" category, it's got a wide selection.

food quality & quantity
from the handful of items i've tried, it ranges from perfectly fine to really good. the nachos were sort of a miracle...generously decorated with cheese and other ingredients while simultaneously not even a tiny bit greasy. really beautifully executed. my chicken sandwich with a cup of soup for ~$5 was generous and filling and quite decent.

service
this is the crown jewel. the service has been friendly and extremely professional -- certainly more polished than one expects in a "pub", and sharper than in most chic tablecloth places. this is especially remarkable because kate's gets totally jammed by about 5:30p.m. and they are still both efficient and gracious.

hard to beat for happy hour, and a solid place to go at other times.

good pub food. it's hard not to like kate's pub when your name is kate! they have a "wall of kates" and will add your photo if you're a kate too. the menu offers a decent variety of burgers, sandwiches, salads, and appetizers. monday is trivia night, which is fun and usually packed.
