crap. we placed an order for take-out, spent $250.00 only to find all of the dishes except the potatoes and cauliflower swimming in gravy! and i do mean swimming!! we ordered saffron rice for 6 people, and when we opened the tray, the rice was all dyed red and green! i am so insulted that the chef preparing everything thought his/her diners were so stupid not to know that saffron is yellow, not christmas red and green. the flavour was okay, passed for indian food, the vegetable pakora delicious. i am sad that a restaurant owner would be so bold as to take advantage of a patron's hard earned money, and rip them right off without batting an eye. with all of the worthy competitors in calgary, karma gets all the thumbs down!

awesome butter chicken.. the only item i liked from here was their butter chicken. one of the best i've had but every other dish was mediocre. my favourite indian dish is palak paneer but it was very disappointing here. i would only come back here if i had a hankering for butter chicken.

fantastic!. the food, the staff, the decor are all fantastic!
i absolutely love the butter chicken at karma. all of their food is delicious and fabulous.
outside of london (uk) this is the absolute best indian food i have found.
the prices are excellent and the staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient.
i recommend this restaurant to everyone!

karma. went to karma last night for a friends birthday and i'm not the adventurous food type. i'm very picky and my stomach doesn't always agree with me most times. to my surprise they have food that's not too too spicy and it was wonderful. i loved the decor, the atmosphere and the staff who let us stay past close at 930. great place, would recommend to anyone who's willing to try or who loves indian food!

decent food all around but the butter chicken is terrible. tastes exactly like campbells tomato soup. i can almost guarantee that's what they use instead of real ingredients

little expensive but good on taste. karma's lucky.. they're located in the south east where there's a lack of multicultural eateries and an abundance of people looking for their "ethnic" fill.

i find this place over-priced - by a lot. it's nice inside.. but when you go here you're paying for the convenience of having an indian restaurant close to home... i guess the money spent on gas to drive else where is reflected in the inflated prices.

i find the restaurants in the north east much better... and way cheaper.. so if you're on that side of the city stop by!

my father and myself went for dinner, and enjoyed a very well prepared meal. however, we felt the service from shannon to be very poor, inattentive, and we felt like we were almost an inconvenience to her. service is just as important to the dining experience as much as the food. it’s a shame but the level of service is not up to par with the food. it would be nice to be served with enthusiasm because there are lots of other very good indian restaurants in this city we could have gone to.

wow,  5 stars from the previous follower.  does he know the owner ?
i have been here a few times,  its ok ..

the biggest problem i have with indian food is when ordering mild,  they cut back on
all the spices (turmeric, ginger, cumin etc),  when all they need to cut back on is the chili powder
its the chili powder that makes it hot.  most places if order mild, they cut back all the spices and then
its bland …..

there is only one place that seems to "get it"   that's green curry in the nw.  i say please make it regular with 1/2 the amount of chili powder,  then its perfect.   and they also have no problem making a few changes if you ask.  i like chana masala with some spinach,  no problem .. very tasty

visiting from out of town and my friend recommended this place close to her home. we shared chicken vindaloo, lamb madras and prawn curry along with saffron rice and garlic naan. the flavours were very nice and the waitress was excellent. the only thing keeping me from rating 5 stars was that i didn’t find it as spicy as advertised on the menu. my friend thought it was perfect, but i would have enjoyed a bit more heat. i was surprised it wasn’t busier given the quality of the food but i’m sure it has a loyal client base. definitely recommended and i would go back again.

a very disappointing experience! every single container was practically nothing but sauce with a few pieces of meat floating. the butter chicken had only 5 small cubes of chicken and we paid $15 for it. the dal was nothing but a thin lentil soup - you had to fish for them. each piece of nan was $3. i can't understand how a restaurant like karma survives in this economy when you can go to so many other outstanding indian food restaurants in calgary. never going back!
