something always has to suck... right? another case of nice from far but far from nice... maybe the best julius meinl coffee in town, a taste of wien from the melange to the einspanner. deserts are tasty and fresh (although a viennese should get the sacher torte right, but its rather a brownie with stuffed marmalade). no real snack to eat, so don't go hungry. the place is welcomingish and sitting outside when the sun shines down on you can be heavenly. the establishment is very strict about the chair setup so you better have expendable friends with you. this is the good part. the bad part is the service, or rather lack of. the waiters are student aged and have built their own dominion. arrogance and ignorance go hand in hand (of course there are a couple of ok blokes). they very much reflect the motto of the venue "we reserve the right not to serve you" or similar crap which you can find fineprinted at the bottom of the menu (as of april 2015). one waitress (kid) literally stuffed my productive comments down my throat. so, if you can stand being spat on the face for some very good coffee with your friends waiting for their turn to sit, you are in the right place. you'll love the coffee, but not the experience when the taste of the coffee wanes.
