just back from kama. great experience. food was wonderful and the variety across indian regions is fun. service was friendly and helpful. we're not indian food experts and they made it easy to ask questions.

we just had to have a chicago dog while in the windy city. there's no better place than portillo's! we had a large party, got through the lines with ease. we sat upstairs and the staff taking care of the area was helpful and friendly. he told us to sit and enjoy, he'd bring us the sides and napkins, etc. the experience was amazing. 7 of us had the chicago dog and one had the shaved beef with peppers, dipped. it makes all of the difference. so good! i've been through the drive through, but the inside is another experience all together.

must try for any indian foodie out there. the place is perfect for a small get together with friends and family. the overall ambience of the place is welcoming and comfortable with soft music in the background. the staff is patient and the service is good.

talking about the menu, dal makhni is a must try. we also ordered a non veg platter in which the fish and lamb pieces were surprisingly good. for breads, we ordered bitter and garlic naan along with curries including mutton roghan josh and chicken makhni, which were all equally tasty

the dessert menu was short, with limited options. we ordered kheer and pista kulfi. the kheer was great, not too sweet, just the perfect amoumt. the kulfi was just okay.

the bar didn't have much options to choose from. also, the wait time can be killer of yoi don't reserve in advance

having heard a lot about this place, i was still skeptical because the other places that i've been  have disappointed big time. going into this place, i did not have much expectations but the food here blew my mind away. best indian food in chicago. tastes like you are eating in some part of northern india.

tried chilli paneer in appetizer,  achari paneer and dal makhni in entree with garlic naan in breads. all of them were simply amazing. kheer and kulfi in dessert was also brilliant. to top it of, the quality of service is top notch. all this makes your money worth it.

do make sure to book a table in advance else the wait can be long.

must try kama indian bistro. kama is just plain fantastic! i was never a huge indian food fan but kama has converted me. the array of flavors, the spices, the atmosphere all make for a wonderful, fulfilling experience. we had a group of 6 and were promptly greeted and seated by the hostess who took the extra time to explain the different indian dishes and described how each was prepared. our waitress was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. she answered our questions, asked about our tastes and made some wonderful dish and wine recommendations. for appetizers, we had the pei mussels, chili crispy potatoes and the pakora platter. the mussels cooked in coconut milk and tamarind were great! they would make a fantastic main dish. the chili fries and pakora platter of lightly breaded and fried vegetables were also very good. we ordered the kandai marsala lamb, vindaloo lamb, malai kofta potato & paneer dumplings w/raisins, tandoori seafood platter.. we passed dishes around so everyone could try everything and no one was disappointed. the dishes were extremely flavorful with plenty of spice. the vindaloo lamb brings plenty of heat but not overly so and is a great dish..
poll from the table is that service was a solid 5 and food rated between 4.5 and 5. guaranteed we will be back!

best indian food in all of chicagoland. this is the creme de la creme of indian food. it's a small place near the train station, if you're taking the train from naperville or union station, you walk 50 feet and you're at this glorious restaurant.

the seating is fun, it's very rich in color, very inviting color scheme. they have booths and tables for your preference.

the owner and his wife always make me feel very welcome here. i am all about great customer service. now, the food is really the best here, but if i liked two indian restaurants equally and i had to travel a further distance to go to the restaurant that provides better customer service, i would make that trek. the servers always make sure your food's spice level is to your liking, and they go through the menu with you in case you're not familiar with indian food. even if you are familiar with indian food, they still are happy to answer any questions, and they make great recommendations.

finally. my family and i moved to la grange less than two years old and were disappointed there were no indian restaurants here at the time. it's our favorite cuisine, so when kama opened, we were excited but a little afraid to get our hopes up.

fortunately, we weren't at all let down. in fact, this is some of the best indian food we've ever had. the ambiance is nice--not formal but not overly casual either. we brought our children and didn't feel out of place. the menu selection is excellent, and the portion sizes are good, which is important since the food is delicious. our only complaint is that the service, while friendly, is a little slow, but this could be a result of just starting out and trying to keep up with the pace of business.
